“Oh, B. it’s not your fault. It’s not, don’t say that.” Clark rubbed his hand against Bruce’s back, using his other hand to whisk through Bruce’s neatly combed hair, messing it up. Bruce pathetically looked up at him, his eyeliner and mascara smeared, running down his face. “Wipe those tears, m’kay?” He slid his hand out from Bruce’s hair and to his face, cleaning the black stains.
“All he wanted, B, was sex and fame. You couldn’t control that, it is not your fault.” Firm eyes stared into his, repeating it one more time.
“Not your fault.”

Bruce thinks he’s finally got it, he’s finally made a good relationship, and intends to keep it, despite the other members of the batfam thinking he can’t., or just that the relationship isn’t going to end good. in the end, they were right, it all explodes in his face in public at a gala, what was supposed to be a happy call turned into an absolutely devastating break up over call. After, Bruce convinced this time really was all his fault, Clark helps him to get out of his saddened state and then the Batfam ship and try to get them together — some stuff kinda happens on its own (Because the two stupidly in love fools think one is not in love with the other.)

Clark adopts a worried expression: softly scrunched eyebrows and the downward tug of pink, plump lips. “What was the deal with the pink stuff?”
Right. Pink. Bruce licks his lips, mouth watering.
Right. It’s not hard to keep quiet, to not reveal he can’t stop thinking of him, of kissing and touching and giving himself up to him.
Bruce shrugs his shoulders, causing Clark to remove his hand; it stings. With a somewhat steady voice, he responds, “Harmless. It was just pink dust.”
