    Summary

There's something about this girl, like looking in a funhouse mirror a third of his size. “Oi, kid,” Toji says. “It’s you, isn’t it?”

The girl glares daggers at him from behind a pair of red-rimmed glasses too big for her tiny face. She’s looking at him like he’s totally crazy, which isn’t entirely untrue. “Huh? Who the heck are you?”

In lieu of answering, he asks, “What’s your name?”

    The girl scowls. “Maki.”

“Maki,” he repeats, and it’s like a missing piece of his soul falls back into place. The record of his life before he fought the Six-Eyes brat is a long, impossibly white scroll of nothing -- but written on it in faint letters is the name of a child, a child with a delicate name that brushed the heavens, spun a prayer into letters; a name that began with an M, and it ended in i, too.

“Maki,” he says again. “I think you’re my daughter.”

    --------

Toji makes a mistake. It changes everything.

    Summary

What if Jason actually stayed as competent as he was in Lost Days and Under the Hood, and actually reacted to his (ex-)dad slicing his neck open?
What if Bruce actually got taken to task (eventually) for being abusive?
What if people actually decided to talk to each other, and listened to what the other person was saying?

But really, it's: what if Jason had a support system; and what if Jason had someone tell him that violence is not how you solve all societal problems.

(And what if I decided that the narrative would be on Jason's side as much as DC's narrative is on Batman's)
(Also, the series is only called Alley Business because I wrote that one first)

Incomplete (and the total word count is half of what it says - the chronological order fic doubles it)

    Summary

Amnesiatic Jason works as a doctor at Gotham General, trying to pick up the pieces of his forgotten life, and fights in an underground boxing ring to make ends meet. But Gotham's systems are corrupt, something is brewing in its underbelly, and Jason doesn’t know if he can trust the vigilantes stalking his city at night.

    Summary

    “I will drive,” Damian announces.

“No.” Jason grabs him by the scruff of his robes before he can squirm away. “Tim’s driving.”

Damian whirls, eyes bright. “I am perfectly capable-”

“Yes, Damian, you are, but you’re also too short to reach the pedals.”
Jason’s honestly surprised he doesn’t get a knife in the gut for that. Tim is wise enough to keep his mouth shut.

Wise - Jason decides firmly - but also breathtakingly stupid, because he takes two steps away from the truck and almost falls flat on his face when his injured leg gives out.
Jason catches him, right in time for him to say, “Right. Stab wound. Forgot about that.”

Jason sighs, casts his gaze to the sky, and mentally apologizes to Bruce. He’s herding cats here. He and Dick weren’t this bad, were they?

(They were, he knows they were, which just makes this whole fiasco even more annoying.)

    Summary

The claws shredded through his pants, just precise enough that the tears’ placement felt deliberate.

Xiao shuddered at the cold air washing over his exposed skin, feeling his anticipation replaced with dread? Why? Why would the Geovishap tear them there in particular? It wasn’t intelligent enough to know how humiliating this was… even without anyone to witness it. And yet it didn’t seem to be making any move to kill him — damn it. He’d be able to tell if he could only see what it was trying to do, but the paw kept his head firmly pressed into the ground.
