Summary
Ronal bowed slightly to catch her grief-stricken gaze. She seemed to be searching the face covered in black ash and streaked with tears. Tears that had flowed enough to leave furrows in the skin of the woman standing before her. Neytiri looked hurt, diminished.
She was far from home, and now she had to mourn a child who should never have left her forest, its endless treetops and skies so close you knew where to touch them to make them bend. The omatikaya pressed against the pierced ground looked like nothing more than a shadow.
The Tsahik slowly sized her up, weighing her next words. Wondering if she was worthy of confiding in her about this pain that was still so fresh. Then she redrew the black mask, streaked with dark blue, which still told the story of how the tears had flowed.

Neytiri is hurt and she's lonely. She could use a friend, and Ronal could too. Somehow, they learn how to talk, how to care for each other.
