Ben had thought about this quite carefully as he’d rested on the bed, listening to her sobs. She was suffering, he had the potential solution. It seemed the easiest thing in the world.
“Leave this door unlocked,” he gestured to the interlocking door between their rooms, “And next time I hear you having a bad night, I’ll come through that door, and lay next to you, and - “
“ and?”
“And nothing. That’s it, isn’t it? What the therapist said your omega needed? An alpha nearby? I’ll be the alpha. Nearby.”
“And you’ll lie there?’
“I’ll lie there, and that’s all I’ll do,”
“Oh,” Rey studied him for a long while.
After a minute she said,
“Won’t that inconvenience you - having to get up in the middle of the night to come sleep next to some random woman? Why would you even want to?”Rey is an omega who can’t sleep. She wakes up every night, sobbing into her pillow.
Ben is an alpha who is finding it nearly impossible to sleep because he’s staying next door to her.
So, he suggests a solution.
