It wasn’t often that Geralt had the luxury of true rest. Case in point: the nest of monstrously large venomous spiders he was currently slashing through. Silk sheets? The closest Geralt had gotten in many years was the shimmering spider silk he was now pulling off himself in great swathes. A face mask? Summary
Jaskier spends several years healing after Geralt turns him away on the mountainside, and his fragile heart is finally piecing itself back together. He keeps returning to Posada every year for reasons unknown even to him, but everything's fine. Who needs Geralt, right? The betrayal will fade eventually. The feelings too. The bitter, raw feelings... and then he runs into another Witcher in the same damn tavern. He even looks like Geralt. But instead of a walking bulwark of brooding silence, he meets a man with an open smile, kind eyes and a laugh that warms his very soul. Another few chance meetings and Jaskier finds himself inextricably drawn into Eskel's orbit. I mean, they have so much in common, including a deep, relentless yearning for a tall, brooding Witcher with hair the colour of moonlight.
All characters in this series are their game versions, with the exception of Jaskier who is an amalgamation of all with a heavy sprinkling of fanon lore. I have used "The Witcher - All Media Types", but with the exception of the jumping off point, this series uses lore from books, games, Gwent and TTRPG only.
