Summary
Legend did not know much about the entity that resided within the mask.
But he knew the tides, he knew the storm, he knew the dreams of a god and losing himself, almost, to every single one; he knew how to utterly be at their mercy, to have his screams swept away along the deafening roars, to still hold onto a piece of himself despite everything when he inevitably got tossed out the other side.
The battle raged on. He reached forward.
What’s another shipwreck?

The worst part about growing up, Dick mused sometimes, was probably the gain of perspective.

Summary
For a moment, everything was wrong.
The way Wild's eyes weren't quite visible, half-hidden beneath the shadow of his hood; the way his hair swayed by his shoulders, undone in a way Legend hadn't seen before; the way something hummed under the right side of his cloak, a whisper of magic that echoed emerald rather than Sheikah-cyan.
"You're not him," Legend said before he could stop himself, and the moment shattered.

Summary
Link got his second ocarina in a dream within a dream. He woke in the shrine in Mabe village with it cradled in his hands, a bit warm from his palms, as real as he was. This makes no sense, he thought, but only briefly, and that was the first fracture, wasn’t it. Some things only ever seem rational in dreams.
A few nights later, when all three of them are playing together, Four finally gets up and takes the ocarina out of his bag. Sky smiles and moves over on his log, and Four sits next to him and starts to play.
There’s really no point in adding another ocarina to the mix, and Legend’s other instruments are back home. When Four catches his eye, Legend looks away.

Sky sees the old man and the veteran fall out of thin air. In the middle of the forest. Where neither of them were a few moments earlier.
He was probably missing something.

Summary
“What are those scars on your back?”
Legend blinks over his shoulder at Wind’s question. He lowers his arms from where they’d been stretched over his head to take his bloodied tunic off for laundry and twists, trying to get a look at which scars the kid is talking about, but Sky has him beat.
“Those are lightning scars,” the chosen hero says. And then, with apprehension, “where’d you get them from?”

Summary
“My name is Link,” Link said guardedly. “Link Alphonson.”
“I’m Ellanharai,” his pack said, just as guardedly.
The two men before him exchanged knowing glances before looking back at him.
“Well, see, here’s the thing,” the tall, snarky blond said slowly. “My name is also Link. Captain Link Taylor of the Royal Hylian Army. And this-” He gestured at the fox daemon at his heels. “-is Ellanharai.”
“Link of Skyloft,” the shorter brunette said, placing a hand over his heart and inclining his head like a noble. Was… was that the Master Sword on his back?
“Ellanharai of Link,” the crane added, sweeping a wing out and also gracefully inclining her head.
“Well met,” they chorused in perfect harmony.
“…Oh, shit,” Link breathed, his sword arm dropping limply to his side as a headache bloomed behind his forehead. “I time traveled, didn’t I?”
