Miguel is clawing at the shield of the go-home machine. It’s stronger than he is, but not by much. Inside, Peter can see Miles’ cowering form – watching as Miguel’s claws tear, catch, and slowly pry open the shield.
The air sparks and chirps, everything’s a riot of color and sound, and yet, Peter can’t do anything but stand there and watch. No one’s moving actually, there are a couple of Spideys with their masks off and their mouths open, looking on as Miguel loses his fucking mind.
Peter turns to Gwen, and her expression mirrors his horror.
He has three devastating thoughts in quick succession, each more shameful than the last.
I love that man.
He’s going to kill Miles.
I let him hold my daughter.
(Or Peter’s post-canon re-evaluation of the man he loves.)

That's why this is a Christmas story: because the knight's blood was red, but his eyes were green, and his clothes were green, and his skin was green, too, and because he had tracked snow into the hall, and because even after he put his head back on and got on his horse and left - even after they couldn't hear his hoofbeats, out on the stone path the Romans had built - the snow stayed, and stayed.

'Yuletide again. Camelot was alive with all the joys of the season’s festivities: enormous boughs of holly and ivy were wreathed around the halls, songs and spices filled the air, faces were red with laughter and the midwinter cold. It was lovely, heart-warming—but Lancelot was not feeling the spirit. From where he traipsed through the snowy courtyard, jubilant strains of ‘Nove Lucis Hodie’ reached him, and he felt almost penitent to find that they did not fill him with the cheer they had always used to.
The reason for his melancholy was—over there, chatting with some ladies, who were visibly trying to keep up their modest manners despite holding the attention of the fairest knight in all of Camelot. Lancelot noticed this with a wave of resentment.'A poet appears at Camelot's Yuletide feast, singing of a place where fame will be granted to the fortunate. Lancelot is suspicious: is he just jealous that Gawain seems more taken with the poet than with him? Or is there something sinister afoot?
