Jolyne stared at the photo of her dad for several moments. She looked at the way his eyes crinkled. His teeth gleamed. There was a slight blur in the photo. He must have been moving, laughing maybe, when it was taken.
She tried to remember if she had ever seen her dad smile like that around her. She wasn’t sure.
Jolyne took out the photo and looked at the back.
“Your best friend, Kakyoin” was written in neat black pen. Jolyne was puzzled. She couldn’t imagine her dad having friends.
