Another quiet whimper from the other room. Then, miraculously, a shuffling noise shortly followed by a pitch swath of humanoid shadow in the dark grey space of the doorframe. A tiny victory over self loathing, apparently. The negotiations that followed were done blindly and in hushed tones.
Harry's apartment is deeply fucked after his return from Martinaise. Kim is kind enough to let him stay over for a couple nights and gets hit in the face with a ton of inconvenient feelings-bricks.

Will have always been aware that he and Hannibal knew each other intimately. But knowing someone else’s mind intimately wasn’t the same as sharing intimacy.
Will learned the little things; that Hannibal woke up with the messiest bed hair known to man, that he had to brush his teeth like any other human on earth, and that he had awful morning breath. He learned that Hannibal had a tendency to push his cold feet between Will’s thighs at night and that he snore like a bear if he slept on his side.
But the most important thing that Will learned was that Hannibal Lecter was a romantic.
Well. That one wasn't exactly a huge surprise.

A hero is someone courageous and empathetic. A hero is someone who will bear their duty to those in need with a smile. A hero is someone who will do what must be done, even if it's painful. A hero is someone who knows the true meaning of sacrifice. By this definition, Link was a hero to a fault.

"Martin?" He hears Jon call from the kitchen. The sound echoes in his head, bounces off the walls of his skull and distorts with every collision until it is nothing but static, white noise, white foam clinging to his thighs as he stands in the ocean.
Left the kettle on, Martin realizes somewhat distantly. The shrieking had stopped a while ago, but the hob was likely still on, heating a kettle full of nothing for an empty house. Sometimes, Martin wonders if Jon feels like he lives with a ghost. There's irony somewhere in there, but Martin's too tired, too cold to try to find it.
