“The Red Hood has been good for Gotham,” Robin continued. “Crime in Park Row decreased by sixty one percent almost as soon as you showed up, and that’s even taking into account all the crime you commit. Drug overdoses have decreased by twenty two percent in adults and seventy nine percent in minors. Homeless minors are ninety two percent less likely to—”
“Kid,” Jason interrupted. “Enough statistics. What the hell is this about?”
Robin slowly lowered the tablet with his powerpoint presentation and looked up at Red Hood.
“You care about Gotham,” Robin summarised. “Gotham needs Batman. Batman is missing and so is Nightwing. We need you to fill in for Batman.”
“You want me to cover Batman’s patrols?” Jason clarified.
“No,” Robin said. “I want you to be Batman.”
Jason bluescreened.
(Or: Batman and Nightwing mysteriously disappear before Red Hood has even started antagonising them, Robin is desperate, Gotham needs Batman, and Red Hood is Batman-Shaped.)

Summary
Instead of doing the Red Hood thing, Jason Todd chose to stay with the All-Caste, simply because he was happy there. But that doesn't mean he forgot Gotham, or Bruce. They still have unfinished business, and Jason still wants his answers. Bad times for everybody involved is guaranteed.

Summary
The Joker thought that if he burned fire with fire, it would get rid of the problem. He thought that it would snuff out Gotham’s favourite son. Unfortunately, just like how Gotham draws you in and refuses to give you up: refuses to straighten out lives and let you leave town; how you leave only to find yourself standing back at the door, swearing it’ll be the last time. Unfortunately, despite all of the Joker’s intentions: the hair just grew back thicker.
Gotham wouldn’t stand for what happened to Jason Todd.
Jason Todd wakes up gasping for breath in an upholstered coffin.
But in this life, Gotham doesn’t stand for the desertion and desolation of Her favourite son: in this life, She gives Her un-knighted protector a second chance some would argue he does not deserve. In this life, the people of Gotham notice when a boy crawls from the grave even if it’s a stormy night. Even if it’s Gotham, where weird shit goes to mingle.
Or: the citizens of Gotham actually notice a boy breaking out the grave and do their very best to get Jason back to his dad. A tale of shitbox first-generation Ford Focuses, eBay lurking, family and how to survive in Gotham as a “regular” joe!
