Obi-Wan once had wings before they were cut off when he was 15 by a mad scientist, Zan Arbor. Distraught, Obi-Wan doesn't mention his wings ever again so anyone who met him after he was 15 is entirely unaware he is anything but human.
During the Clone Wars, Dooku turns on his apprentice Asajj Ventress. She becomes injured and nearly dies. Obi-Wan makes an agreement with her that he will take her to Darthomir and the Night Sisters to be healed if she turns away from the Dark side. Knowing that her master just betrayed her, she agrees and Obi-Wan returns her to the Mother. Not willing to be in debt to a Jedi, the Mother offers to restore his wings and make him whole again. He agrees and Obi-Wan is able to fly again for the first time in nearly 20 years.
He returns to the Temple and must adjust to having wings again, and the instincts that were suppressed when they were missing. Conversely, those close to him must now adjust to Obi-Wan having wings and his highly protective instincts.
After maiming Dooku when his protective instincts flare, Obi-Wan chooses to temporarily step down from the council in order to adjust to the new changes. In his absence, Anakin takes up his seat. Trusted with the new responsibility, Anakin steps up and begins to become more involved with the order and his fellow Jedi, while atoning for his sins.

Jason grows close with the Batfamily again through a series of injuries, both his and theirs.
He ends up kidnapped with the entire family coming to rescue him. He plays distraction to prevent them from being killed when one of his captors uses a machine gun and gets hurt and nearly dies in the process.
He tells them he loves them before he wakes up from a coma to his dad and brothers.
