Summary
Karkat sang the last chorus all on his own. His stance grew tall. The line of his shoulder was wide and for a second you felt like he might grow wings. Vocally he'd already flown high above the audience. You couldn't lie, even from behind, he was beautiful like this.
You finished the song accompanying him with a final, "Am I trying too hard?"
The crowd roared, you assumed Feferi and Jade's influence on them was strong. Still, you threw yourself over your drumset and lifted Karkat off his feet in a hug. Normally he'd kick you and thrash out of your grip, but today he just beamed. Dave was scrambling up onto the stage and throwing himself into the huddle, both of you working to keep Karkat balanced despite your jarring height difference.
You swore you could feel your trajectory in the universe starting to shift.
A Humanstuck story about Sollux, Karkat, and Dave starting a band to escape the epic highs and lows of high school bullying. Roughly set in the late 90s/early 00s.

“You know, if I were someone else I’d be somewhat suspicious about how much information you seem to have on every person you meet or stumble across,” you mention to Sollux, sitting in the cockpit beside him. “Then again, if I were someone else I would have probably hid your warning about not associating with you and I’d be short one pilot, one apiary expert, one warp core engineer, and one excellent wing-man, so I’d try not to see a horse gift on the mouth.”
Dave Strider wants to protect his soulmate, Karkat Vantas, the guy he's been seeing in his dreams ever since he was a teenager, and Sollux Captor wants to save someone important to him too, someone who’s destined to lead the Third Sufferer’s Rebellion and die brutally executed for it. The two men live and work together on a delivery ship while they investigate the Time Loop Phenomenon in their spare time, going through the notes of Past Captors to make sure this timeline doesn't end doomed with capital D.
If it's up to Sollux to save everyone, then it's up to Dave to save him from himself...

“Augh, no,” Sollux stopped him. “Strider, your white ass is not allowed to speak to us in anything other than English, remember? That was the deal I made with Dirk when he asked Tuna and I to teach him Korean, so that you would never be allowed to use it in my presence.”
“Since when does using Spanish words count as speaking Korean?” Dave answered. “Are you implying that if I break into your house to steal your kimchi to put it on a dish, I’m actually making myself some delicious enchiladas?”
Karkat just groans, because he’s been dealing with these two since grade school and doesn’t know whether to punch them or kiss them. No, scratch that, stupid brain, he meant punch. 100%, he only meant punch.
Or in which it’s the 2010’s, Karkat Vantas is part of a hippie cult and has a complicated relationship with his mother, Sollux Captor wants to go from the prettiest girl in school to the coolest guy but ends up becoming the New Vriska instead, and Dave Strider doesn't know if he's going out with one or both of them because he had the great idea to suggest they pretend to date.

Stede finds that being a convicted felon makes job searching near impossible when the owner of a flower shop takes pity on him and gives him a job. It starts as just Stede fulfilling the requirements of his parole. He certainly didn't agree to the offer with the thought the business and the people around it would change his life.
