Summary

I remember that night.
I told you, half-joking but half-true,
"I’d rather choose someone who likes me… than someone I like."You didn’t even hesitate.
You said, “Same.”I blinked.
"Really?"
I was surprised. I thought you’d believe in chasing love. In pursuing. In fighting for what you want.But you just shrugged. Calm. Quiet.
Like you’d already decided love should be safe, convenient, even.
Like love should never make you try too hard.You said something like:
"I just want to build a life with someone who wants me. Isn’t that what life’s about? Building something simple and steady? Why make it complicated by chasing someone who doesn’t?"And I understood.
God, I did.But deep down, I also disagreed.
Because isn’t that just… easy love?
Love that costs nothing. Love that never shakes you.

When Jungkook, a beta, is tasked with taking care of Taehyung during his preheat, he's determined to do it well. He desperately wants to show his boyfriends, his pack, that he can do a good job- that he can be good. He feeds Taehyung by hand, keeps him hydrated, obediently fetches pain medications and lets himself be used as a human teddy bear. Anything to make the preheat easier.
But then...suddenly, Jungkook can't stop thinking about how the nest Taehyung built is all wrong. The omega is asleep, but he wouldn't mind if Jungkook fixed it, right? Just moved some of these blankets into the right spot, where it's so much cozier? Maybe he'd even be happy, proud that Jungkook knows just how to fix the nest for them both to share. Sure he's ignoring the burning heat in his stomach, the dizziness floating behind his eyes, but that's not important. The nest is important. It has to be safe, has to be perfect.
When Taehyung wakes up to a completely different nest, a sick packmate, and an unfamiliar scent, he realizes Jungkook /might/ not be a beta anymore.

Along the way the seven of them discover many things they don't understand. The only fact they're sure of is that their rabbit familiar has a weird fixation with the Jeon kid. Oh and that the Jeon kid isn't going to speak to them. Ever.
(This one writer is particularly bad at summaries, they tried to change it but they should accept that they're just bad at summaries).
OR:
OT6 are vampires, Jungkook is the son of the big bad hunters, there's so much blood between their species, and they don't like each other at all.

Should he help Sangsoo? Why isn’t he helping him? He made a metal for Jimin, and while yes, it’s a ridiculous metal with a ridiculous power, but it’s still a metal nevertheless. It’s not like they don’t know he can Weld. Is he afraid? Is he afraid he’ll be locked up again if he makes a soulblock? He can already imagine the uncomfortable feel of the jury chair as he listens to accusations of society disruption and anti-supernatural speciesm.
His parents died for what they believed was right. He was ready to die in imprisonment for what they as a family believed was right, did that change? Is freedom more precious than his parents’ legacy? Will the savages get in his freedom what they didn’t get in his imprisonment? Compliance?
