Summary
Dabi exists and yet doesn't, is thirteen yet sixteen, three years lost with home no longer being a home, feeling like a burned-out shell of his former self with no real identity, everything having been burned away the night he lost control of his Quirk. Blair, in turn, doesn't expect to find out this burned-out shell of a kid digging through his dumpster in need of a good meal, to know he's no failure, and deserves to be loved, one step at a time, starting with a much-needed meal.

Summary
Kagome has been many things in her seventeen years: a captain's daughter, a ship's menace, a wanderer, a battlefield medic who charges for her services. What she has never been is confused. She knows wind direction, tide patterns, how to read a man's fighting stance before his feet finish moving. She is not soft. She is not lost. She does not need saving.
Then she keeps running into the same green-haired idiot in every port from here to the Grand Line, and something in the architecture of her certainty starts to crack.Bookmarked by Ukelene

Summary
She didn't inherit the dream. She inherited the blade that matched it — and the silence where a goodbye should have been. Kagome left the shrine with bruises and a blade her sister pressed into her hands and the words: don't let go. Three years later she's still holding on — to the tantō, to the grief, to something that feels increasingly like a direction. She wasn't looking for anyone in that port town. But the swords recognized each other before she did, and the green-haired swordsman with her sister's blade on his hip turns out to be the kind of person who tells you exactly what's wrong with your stance and means it as a kindness. Turns out grief is a strange kind of common ground.

Summary
Kagome is barely five years old when her mother leaves her at the Baratie. Sanji is six(and a half), arms already crossed, already certain he doesn't want whatever this is. They grow up side by side in the same kitchen — rivals (one-sided), partners, each other's constant — until love forms the way sediment does: layer by layer, invisible until it's the ground beneath you. She expresses it through food. He expresses it by placing her somewhere he can't reach. For twelve years, she gives. He takes, and pulls back, and takes again, and calls it something else. When it finally breaks, she doesn't shout. She goes to the kitchen at midnight and bakes until the counter is full — and every dish tastes exactly like everything she never said. He eats all of it. That's when he understands.
