“What do I normally get from there?” Eddie asks him, chin settled back onto his shoulder.
“The kung pao chicken.” he answers almost instantaneously, having all of Eddie’s usual take-out orders memorised by now. It comes in handy for when they need to get food in quick whilst navigating work and Christopher. It’s not weird.
He, unfortunately, misses the odd look that Maddie sends him. As well as the way that Hen hides a snicker behind a cough.

Summary
Buck and Christopher get abducted as retaliation to someone’s past actions. Buck does everything to protect Christopher while Eddie struggles with the two most important people in his life being in danger.
This is set around the beginning of season 5, so Jee is very young but Maddie isn’t suffering from the PPD. Also Ravi is here because I love him and I feel like he gets left out of fics.

Summary
Buck knew without a doubt that if any one of his friends or family could be in his mind for even a second they’d go mad. The constant screaming, the repeated phrases of his greatest hits—they’d never survive it. He doesn’t even know if he can survive it.
When he got like this in the past, it was always easily cured with a quick text to Bobby or plopping onto the Diaz couch with a beer and a sigh. Except neither of those things were possible anymore.
Bobby was gone
Chris was gone
Eddie was gone
Bobby is gone.Everyone left, everyone had someone, but Buck’s someone is gone and even when he was here, Buck was terrified of being too much, doing too much, until even Bobby gave up on him. It had happened before and not just with Bobby.
(Or: Buck is struggling more than anyone knows, and the 8x17 fight and Buck’s need to take back control over his life manifests physically)

“Eddie!” Bobby snapped, the tone of his voice making Eddie flinch back slightly. He’d never heard a bite like that in the man’s voice. “It’s Buck, Eddie!”
Eddie’s blood ran cold at Bobby’s words. “What did you just say?”
The look on Bobby’s face turned grim. He seemed to age several years right in front of Eddie.
“It’s Buck. God, Eddie, it’s Buck in that car."
