The lack of people did not mean there was nothing waiting inside. Not when the air grew stale and faint tremors shook the earth with each step leading Yuji closer to the shrine’s front doors. An unnatural pressure had taken hold of this place. Its grip refused to falter, as the enshrined spirit had been presented this land as their place of worship as well as their chain to the physical world. An unease plagued Yuji’s chest as a result. His movements were hesitant as he pushed his way inside to be met with an unnatural darkness. If only his lantern had not been blown out by the wind, as he possessed nothing to battle such horrid weather in an effort to rekindle the flame. Now that he was inside a place devoid of anything but the howling sound echoing from outside, he could not even see his own fingers in front of his face, let alone search through his tools in an effort to start a fire.
“This shrine… The kami they worshiped must be of the earth.”
❤ Yuji seeks shelter in an abandoned shrine for the night. Sometime later, Sukuna does the same.

"W-what are you doing?" Yuji stammered with one eye hesitantly open to witness a miracle without any perceivable device or medicine on display. Some form of energy had been poured into Yuji's body, and before he knew it, another hand had pressed against his back, offering the same non-physical balm to everything else that afflicted him. "Oh. This is… You're helping me?"
The ability to alter the bodies of others was an amazing feat. Yuji required no more than one hand to count the number of individuals he knew who possessed such a skill. Hesitantly, Yuji peered over his shoulder, about to sheepishly offer his thanks when he noticed the hand responsible for healing his palm was by his captor's mouth to be licked clean.
"You're tasting me!?"
❤ Yuji crash lands on an unregistered planet all alone with no one to mount a rescue to save him. To make matters better (or worse) the first human he runs into is the King of Curses himself, Ryomen Sukuna. Hooray!

The child ignored the utensils provided to tear apart the skewered fish with ravenous fangs. Every other bite included a handful of rice shoved into what little space was left in his mouth. And with his lower set of arms, whatever chopped vegetables remained scattered along the tray were quickly shoveled into the snapping maw on his stomach. When the borderline feral display came to an end, the child acknowledged Yuji’s presence once more, pushing the tray back toward him in a bid for more food while grains of rice stuck to his puffed-up cheeks.

Yuji blinked. The edges of his smile quivered, but the shape of his lips did not change as a faint series of confusing sounds broke free into the air. The sorcerer was laughing. At him—The King of Curses. But only briefly, as Yuji soon covered his mouth with his hands, frowning through his fingers as a new emotion appeared on his face.
“You shouldn’t lie to others. It’s rude. Especially when I was being honest.”
❤ To every rule there was an exception. In Sukuna's case, he did not willingly search for one, but instead his exception unknowingly stumbled into his domain and unintentionally caught them both by surprise. Only one human could ever sway Sukuna's heart, and now that he found him, the curse was not going to let him go so easily.

Despite his nerves, Yuji’s inborn stubbornness poked through. Refusing to simply roll over and accept what happened next, he prepared to bear his fangs at his attacks and demand the worst. But before his foolish defiance could be realized, something caught his nose. A waft of a familiar scent caused him to scrunch up, only for most of his body to give way upon realizing just who had walked in on such an embarrassing display of control.
An imposing man with features not unlike his own stood over him. With arms crossed, showcasing not only disappointment, but flexing the sheer difference in muscle size between them, Yuji was left to recoil just a bit. The single visible eye glaring down at him, while the other remained absent in shadow behind a few loose strands of hair, did not permit his nerves to ease his nerves completely. A rumble gave way, and the low growl of someone who was not to be angered followed each step as the older hybrid slowly closed the gap between them until there was no space left to breathe in peace.
“Oji-san…”

Ah, a classic.

The enthusiasm Yuji had for his not-so-original pun had faded all too fast at the man’s deadpan answer. It wasn’t wrong, but it had completely knocked the wind from Yuji’s sails when paired with the cough the man gave when turning his gaze from him completely.
Kugisaki would have laughed at that joke. Fushiguro would have at least had the decency to tell him it wasn’t funny. Somehow, receiving nothing at all had Yuji feeling worse than before he even opened his mouth.
❤ Kugisaki accidentally signs Yuji up for a contest in which the winner gets to cook with the famous chef, Ryomen Sukuna, on his YouTube channel for all the world to see. The odds weren't supposed to be in Yuji's favor, but now here Yuji was, riding the elevator up to Sukuna's film set to get this daunting collaboration started.

Instead, he kept his composure, responding quietly. “I hope I meet your expectations then, my lord.”
Sukuna hummed in satisfaction. “Oh, Blessing,” he murmured low enough for only him to hear. “You have already far exceeded them.”
