Set post AA. Virgil is still having a hard time feeling like he's accepted as part of the group. Deceit is here too because I love the hc that they were best friends when Virgil was a dark side, and I like writing them with a weird complicated but still close relationship. Unexpected Roman feelings/angst occurred towards the end. Happy endings all around though.

Logan sighed softly and took a seat on the other side of the couch, giving Virgil some space. He reached a hand out, offering the steaming mug of peppermint tea.
Virgil took it carefully, never taking his eyes off of Logan. When he had it a look of surprise passed across his eyes.
“Peppermint,” Virgil muttered, eyes wide.
“Your favorite,” came Logan’s response.
Virgil brought the drink to his lips cautiously, taking a slow, shallow sip. His eyes closed for a minute in bliss and the tiny hints of a smile crossed his face even as he continued to cry.
Logan swallowed his pride and voiced the words he knew he needed to say.“I’m sorry.”

Charles is a teacher at a very exclusive school. When armed men burst in on the trail of two children, of course he stands up to them and gets hurt. The children are Erik Lehnsherr's children (of course); a "prominent businessman" or, less politely, "mobster".
Erik is grateful to Charles for saving his children's lives at the cost of his kneecap. So very grateful.
Naturally he tries to reward Charles for his actions. Equally naturally, Charles will be having none of that.
Azazel finds the whole thing unspeakably hilarious. Naturally.
