    Jaskier meets Geralt of Rivia for the first time in a small inn in Posada. He flirts with pockets full of bread, as uncaring of the "bad crowd" as of the gold cat-eyes that hold suspicion. Geralt of Rivia does not want a barker or a bard or anyone else following his Path. Jaskier doesn't care about that either.

He grins around a mouth full of bread, as uncaring of the suspicions looks from the patrons as of the matching one from his peer. Geralt of Rivia does not understand how a Witcher can be so happy near-constantly. Dandelion doesn't care about that either.

    Julek meets Geralt Roger Eric du Haute-Bellegarde for the first time in Kaer Morhen. He frowns around a mouth full of bread, uncaring of the attention on him. Geralt is surprised when the other doesn't laugh at his name. Julek doesn't care about that either.

    At the end of the war, with no clear winner and the leaders of both sides dead, Jaskier and Ciri are tired, alone, and less cautious than they really should be. Captured by Fringilla to be used as a sacrifice for a powerful ritual, Ciri realizes something that Fringilla, steeped in dark magic as she is, doesn't: This ritual does not have one caster and two sacrifices, it has three casters.Taking control of the spell Ciri and Jaskier end up decades back in time, in a world changed beyond their imagining. Navigating Redanian court and managing the Lettenhove Viscounty is exhausting unfulfilling work, but it's a price they're willing to pay for a world where Geralt can be happy.

    And then Redanian court threatens that happiness directly, and they end up at Kaer Morhen in an effort to keep an eye on the nobles looking to use the Witchers for their own gain. The longer they spend there, the more the entangle themselves with the people who used to be their loved ones, and the harder it is to hold back the fact that they're not exactly who they say they are.
