Summary
Winning the Idol Awards means securing the Honmoon. Securing the Honmoon means surviving the hunt.
Zoey knows the rules: fight clean, stay controlled, trust Rumi to lead and Mira to guard her blind spots. She knows the balance they’ve built, between idol life and blood, soaked alleyways, between love and restraint.
But when a hunt goes wrong and the people Zoey loves most are hurt, something inside her Honmoon snaps.

Don't worry - this is a long haul endeavor. Zoey is my favorite character because I relate to her the most and I LOVE writing some angst and hurt/comfort from her perspective - and I have tons of ideas for hurt/comfort oneshots involving her and Mira and Rumi and Bobby and our favorite comfort animals, Derpy and Sussie! I see Zoey and Mira and Rumi as friends/sisters - I suppose you can read many of my stories as Polytrix if you squint, but it's intended to be read like they're best friends navigating the complicated world of demon hunting and stardom with their adoptive father Bobby. I will happily take requests for hurt/comfort or fluff or angst prompts you guys would like to see!

“Did you know some turtles can live to be over 150?” Zoey says, about midway Rumi’s scalp.
“Oh really, Zo?” Rumi says groggily. Inwardly she groans, because now Zoey starts talking all about Tortoises, Galapos and Sey-Whatever turtles. Usually she loved listening to Zoey talk to whatever her current obsession was, but not at 7- freaking- AM. Before she even managed to have a single drop of caffeine.
Zoey gets to the base of her head now, where some stubborn hairs refuse to leave the collar of Rumi’s turtleneck. She pulls the collar down slightly, only to still at the light purple marks hidden beneath it.
Alternatively: Zoey accidentally finds out about Rumi's patterns and slowly starts puzzling together the truth, while dealing with her own emotions about it.

There was simply nothing here. Nothing was allowed to be here anymore. Haven't you been paying attention? Grian knew. Pearl knew. Their Masters, friends, whatever you wanted to call them, tried to understand even if they had only grappled with it, never connected with it. Maybe the avians hadn't truly connected either, because that was forbidden. It was all severed from both of them when they were fifteen years old.

Gem had learned to battle it, to tear it apart, to bend it to her every whim, to the point that it felt natural.
Pearl had lived in the cruelty for as long as she could remember, and to her, the pain was the last thing to fear.And it wasn't as though everything was getting better, it wasn't as though a stroke of good luck would erase all the bruises that had faded but never stopped aching. Mechanisms that thrummed without anyone knowing, without true understanding, because some coped with false confidence, some coped with cockiness, and some just accepted things as they were, and took the hurt because they'd long since gone numb to it.
That didn't mean the sounds would haunt them any less.

She was a little more used to it by now, but there was never really any warning before Amity wrapped herself around her middle. Sometimes, she’d tried to predict it based on facial expression, but it hadn’t been as effective as she thought. The girl was strong and plowed into her every time without warning. But she didn’t mind it. It filled her heart to hold the girl snugly in her arms.
The conversation was much shorter than any of them would have preferred, but Amity had to pack and Lilith had to ready a guest room. She stood in her yard until she could no longer see the girl in the air.

Her hair is green.
That shouldn’t surprise her; she’s just been dyeing it green, but. For some reason, looking at herself strikes her dumb. She looks like a whole other person. The brown had made her look soft and gentle, but the new color gives her an air of power. She looks strong, and intelligent, and like someone who would one day become a member of the Emperor’s Coven. She looks different, although she’s not sure if that’s a good thing or not.
