Prompt from the Walking Dead Kinkmeme: In an AU before the outbreak, a young Daryl Dixon defends himself from his father's abuse and ends up killing him in self defence. When he goes to turn himself in to the Police at 3am, rookies Rick and Shane are covering the night shift and do their best to cope with the situation.
This fic didn't quite follow the prompt exactly but it was definitely the prompt that inspired it.

It stabbed right into his chest, only about an inch deep near his collar bone, but it was definitely in there.
