Summary
When the firemen find him, he’s a kid unconscious in a blazing forest fire. Nobody is sure how he got there, more are astonished by his lack of burns. He does not tell them that he is the source of the fire, his magic leaking out of him like gasoline because he was too weak to control it. He also does not tell them that he isn’t actually a kid, this is just the form he can afford with whatever power he has left.When asked who he is, he simply says “Phoenix”. After all, it is unbecoming for a god to lie.
or Phoenix tries to settle into life amongst mortals and succeeds moderately, as most humans do.

Summary
It’s common knowledge amongst their friend group that Khun models sometimes. Bam’s seen for himself the occasional jewelry adverts and has taken advantage of the free merchandise sent to their shared apartment. This part, at least, isn’t surprising. Khun is devastatingly beautiful: lean muscles, sharp jaw, ice in his smile and his eyes, packaged with the confidence that comes from knowing he is pretty and the willingness to utilize it to his advantage.The fact that Khun’s ventures include the nude variety, though, that is very new to him.
or Bam is trying to be a decent, respectful person and not ogle at the life drawing model. But, it's really hard when said naked model is his best friend and also really really pretty.

“C’mon,” Dex says for the third time, rounding the corner of the library table this time to bodily pull Nursey, albeit gently, to his feet.
“But—”
“You’re spiraling. You need a break.”
“I had a break last night when I was sleeping.”
“Yeah? You really want to tell me you didn’t lay awake the whole time worrying about this paper?”
Nursey can’t actually say that, so he stands there, a bit numb, watching as Dex carefully packs up all Nursey’s stuff.
Then he’s being forced into his sweater and practically frog-marched out of the library.

Summary
It’s late, almost ten Nursey thinks, though not so late that if the game had gone better the team wouldn’t have been a bit livelier. As it is, the team bus is dark, half the guys now asleep, the other half decidedly not in a talking mood, earbuds firmly in place. Nursey’s spent the first half of the drive trying to talk Chowder down. Chowder’s finally agreed he won’t climb out the bus window and fling himself onto the interstate, but that’s probably less Nursey’s pep talk and more that he’s finally noticed the way Ford keeps glancing anxiously toward the back of the bus where an icy cold Maine frost is hunched.
