Summary
Kris has developed a new interest in birdsong as of late. Completely spontaneous, really. Perhaps their annoying nerd classmate could help them learn more… indirectly, that is.

Summary
When Berdly and his annoying groupmate get rained out after finishing up group project work at the Library, Toriel offers to give the bluebird a ride home before heading home with her child Kris. But circumstances change once they arrive at the bluebird’s house, and sleepover shenanigans ensue!
Will Berdly and Kris tear each other apart over Super Smashing Fighters, or will the two teenagers manage to strengthen their relationship (and maybe conquer some repressed feelings along the way)?
This fic is rated T for censored swearing, teens flirting really badly, and discussion of some heavy subject matter.

Summary
Berdly doesn't understand where this sudden urge came from. It's usually just a territorial response when people get too close to his nest or his treasured trinkets, so why does he feel it when his rival is being mocked for things outside of their feeble control? This is terrible.
Kris hates that they feel like this. Why the hell do they have this urge to just… defend the dumb nerd bird from their class whenever they catch him being made fun of? Why do they want him close at all times?! This sucks.
Or, five times Kris and Berdly experience unexplainable compulsions that directly link to each other, and one time that culminates into a realization for both of them.

Summary
As the official rival of the other, Berdly was expected to know a lot about the human. And he played that part spectacularly! What they found humorful, what got under their skin. Their favorite foods, and what they would refuse to eat. How they stood and how they walked. Their mains in Super Smashing Fighters, their favorite and least favorite biomes in Minecrap. Berdly could name any of it. He had to know it, if he wanted to fiercely compete and effectively irritate them.
And the way Kris was standing, completely straight rather than having a slouch. The way they stepped into the classroom, as if unfamiliar to using legs. How their neck turned and glanced around the room, as if they had never stepped foot in this room before in their life.
It was nothing like Kris.
Or: Berdly, somehow, puts together Kris' SOUL situation. And sort of figures out his feelings for the human in the process.

Summary
Sadie Hawkman’s dance is fast approaching, and Kris is woefully unfit for the main event. Unfortunately, the SOUL seems to think that the guy they like to beat into the ground at Smashing Fighters is their best bet at learning how to dance.
