Buck told her everything: the shirtlessness, the movie nights, the cold showers, the grocery runs, Eddie sleeping in the next room, the life they had crafted together—it all came tumbling out.
“This is all I’ve ever wanted, Maddie,” he breathed. “How was I supposed to know that the person I wanted it all with was Eddie?” Even he could hear how miserable, how pathetic, his voice had become. “And now it’s different, because I have it, but it’s not real.”
Those were the worst moments—when Buck slipped in too deep and forgot that this wasn’t really happening. That Eddie wasn’t living with him forever. That while Buck was living out his fantasy, Eddie was stuck in a waiting room until he could return to his real life—one that suddenly contained a lot more people and a lot less Buck within it.

Jason notices which one he picks up and speaks as he’s sipping his drink, “Gripping read you’ve got there. Talks about your competition". Tim rolls his eyes, “‘Competition’ is a flattering word for them. I can barely even breathe at these events without at least ten debutantes telling me how much they would love to be a princess or a queen”.
“Heard anything about wanting to be a duchess?” Jason teases.
Jason takes the paper from him, opens to a new page, points at a specific section, and hands it back to his brother, “There’s a fresh heartthrob this year. So Prince Timothy Jackson Wayne is going to have actual competition this year.” He makes sure to overexaggerate his little brother’s title as much as possible.
Tim’s eyes drift over the paper to find exactly what his brother was talking about, a subarticle with the heading “Lord Conner Luthor is now seeking a wife in Gotham during this year’s season.”

The Golden Girls/Dirty Dancing fusion/Obscure and Original Star Wars Characters crossover nobody wanted or needed in their lives, but here it is.
Dorothy, Sophia, Blanche and Rose are off to Kellermann's on vacation. Kellermann's on Alderaan. Don't worry, the Death Star is many decades in the future, and no one is headed off to Mount Holyoke in the fall.
What they will get is a relaxing trip to the mountains, lots of craft and dance classes, and hopefully some sexy, manly men-- or at least some vacation romance. Will the Force be with them? Maybe. Always in motion the future is.
