Summary
Byleth awoke. Head throbbing. Mind fractured, splintered, Rhea's blood staining his skin, Dimitri's head rolling in Gronder Field, Claude shot out of the sky, Edelgard broken and cold. He yelled for Sothis, for a goddess whose name he shouldn't know yet, not one day in Garreg Mach and already his thoughts were spiraling.
What was happening to him, why does he remember?
Someone gasped outside, voices thundered in the classrooms, they were calling him, his students needed him, his students who he slaughtered, who he made into killers, into rulers.
He would not fail them again.
He would not sleep when they needed him, he would not abandon them for years---even with dragonbreath incinerating his skin, he would get through the war with all of them whole or he would rip himself apart, bleed every ounce of power he held, just for the chance to try again.
To try again and again, seeking a path where they could live with the pain they inflicted. He was always a slow learner. Too cautious to trust freely, too late with his mistakes. But this time, his students, all of his students, stood with him against the future.
He only hoped it would be enough.

Summary
Guillermo de la Cruz was doing absolutely fine. As the right hand man to Supreme Council Member Nadja of Antipaxos, he had many obligations to keep him busy, very busy, so busy he had no thoughts to spare for any former masters who brusquely accepted his apologies and then went off gallivanting across the world without even giving Guillermo the chance to sprint after his heels.
He was doing fine warding off the escalation in vampire attacks after the debunking of a certain rumor regarding the deaths of vampire sires that tenuously kept the monsters (affectionate) in servitude to their one golden rule, his kill count escalating to the absurd as young vampires started to rebel against the council and proclaim a new world order.
Everything was so very fine until a completely ordinary supreme council session unlocked forgotten memories of his early days as a familiar, and with that, the realization that he's not the only one running away from his no good, very bad, terrible feelings.

Of Apollo Smintheus and the mercy he showed in the Trojan War. He giggles at her pleas and summons more sunlight. The only thing left of her is a pile of golden ashes.
Euryale thinks fighting a daughter of Demeter is beneath her. She learns her lesson at the hands of Katie Gardner, who remains sitting at their table out in the stone garden. She whispers to the bushels of roses and firethorns around her and strokes their petals with a gentle touch. Katie smiles into her teacup as Euryale suffocates, sent back to Tartarus, swaddled in a blanket of thorns.
Percy Jackson guts Medusa, stomach to breast, with black claws, and watches her blood pool at his feet. If he closes his eyes, he can almost feel it pulsing. Riptide severs her head in one clean strike, and she dissolves into gold dust. For the second time, she is slain by one named Perseus. There's no Chrysaor or Pegasus to spring from her neck this time, but a child of Poseidon is present to haunt her all the same.
