Purpled straightened hurriedly, taking a step back at the intrusion. Schlatt stood in the doorway, hair held back in a stupid headband.
It took a few seconds for Purpled to realise that Schlatt was staring at his jaw, furrowing his eyebrows pointedly at the dark bruise over the pale skin. Feeling somewhat defensive, Purpled took a small step forward, head held high. "That's none of your business." He stated stubbornly, folding his arms over his chest to h̶i̶d̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶b̶a̶n̶d̶a̶g̶e̶ ̶c̶o̶v̶e̶r̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶h̶a̶n̶d̶ look more intimidating.

Summary
The man- now unmistakably Eddie Munson- opened his mouth as if to say something, choosing to instead launch himself at Steve. There was a second where Steve thought he was being attacked, knocked off kilter, but then Eddie’s arms were around him, burying his face in Steve’s hair. Half-collapsing beneath the weight, Steve guided them both to the floor, pulling Eddie closer instinctively. He felt thinner than he used to, the skin of his back littered with scars.
“Eddie,” Steve murmured disbelievingly, holding him as he shook like a leaf in Steve’s arms. “You’re not dead.”
Eddie laughed, despite the trembling. He clutched onto Steve’s shirt like a lifeline.
“Yeah,” he managed, voice high and vulnerable. “Sorry to disappoint.”

Summary
After the events of S4, El and Dustin are both struggling to find their place.
El is in hiding, training for the day that she can finally defeat Vecna and start her life.
Dustin feels everything crumbling around him, and is trying to hard to keep himself from crumbling, too.
After running into each other in the middle of the night, they start forming a bond separate from the party. Dustin is helping El find herself in a world where she has only ever been told who to be. El is helping Dustin heal and grow at a time where he feels the most alone he ever has.

“Same here,” Pete pants. Now that he is finally immobile does he truly begin to feel the aching in his legs and feet.

Every Wednesday, at exactly 9:39 PM, a beat up van swerved into the Family Video parking lot. It would park in the same two spots (yes, two because it nearly always had at least one wheel fully over the line and intruding into the other spot) and the occupant would sit in his car for about a minute with the engine on, the front windows down, and the music blasting just loud enough for Steve to hear from behind the counter. Then, he’d turn off the ignition, hop out, close the door with a little double tap, stub his cigarette out beneath the toe of his sneaker, and at 9:41 exactly, he’d walk through the double doors, the chains dangling from his belt jingling in tandem with the bell, and glance in Steve's direction before turning away to wander down the rows in search of a movie to rent.
It took everything in Steve not to bang his head against the fucking register every time he saw him.
AKA, Steve Harrington can't stand Eddie Munson. From the rumors of satanism, to the drug dealing, to his infuriating personality, Eddie just seems like trouble. But, as the pair are forced to spend time near one another, feelings of disdain quickly change into a mutual liking. And, to both the boys dismay, deep attraction.
