Summary
Mike Wheeler was clumsy. Or that was what he called himself anyway — Nancy insisted it was impulsivity and attention seeking, but her opinion mattered little to Mike. Biking to and from school, roughhousing, running around because of tag or some other game they came up with in the afternoon, could cause all kinds of accidents.
And it was fine, Mike could deal with holding back tears as his hands stung from a scrape or from hitting his forehead on a glass door. It was fine — until Mike found out a special way to get rid of the pain.
Or Mike gets hurt all the time and Will kisses it better. Then, when Will is hurt, he follows the example.

Summary
A summer job at Scoops Ahoy was already stupid — entitled teenagers, mothers that were infuriated about prices, Erica who kept coming for samples — and the fact it was the town that tortured Will from the age of 12 to 16, but he needed the money and the experience before continuing onto his second year of college. What was more stupid though was putting up a sign that said "out of order" on the bathroom's door and taking edibles with Mike post shift, then vomiting it all.
And now he was getting a bit emotional. Shit, maybe the edibles were still in his system. But that gives an opportunity to Will because — after much reflection during and post high — maybe he could trust Mike Wheeler with one more secret.
Or
Mike and Will take edibles right after their shift at Scoops Ahoy, then Will sobers up with courage to finally be honest about his sexuality and his feelings for Mike.

A sneaky Dustin and Lucas formulate a plan to trick them into making sure they end up roommates!
Mike and Will try to regain a friendship they both miss, and protect their hearts/Secrets while they try to move on from their (presumably) unrequited feelings for each other. A balancing game they BOTH struggle with and FAIL at.(Canon till S3 - only difference I moved the timeline forward 2 years so Will is kidnapped at 14 not 12 - Adjustments for S4 will be addressed see note)

“Where are you going?” Robin asked, gesturing back to The Price is Right on the TV. “This isn’t even a re-run!”
“There are more important things than the big showcase right now, Robin. You’ve led little Byers completely astray here, and I’ve gotta go fix it.”
