Merlin, Prince of Dracaneard, only meant to go visit Camelot in secret so he could see the land of prophecy and meet his uncle. He really didn’t intend to save Prince Arthur’s life or be given a job as his manservant for the trouble.
But it’s a good way to get to know the prince who is prophesied to unite Albion and bring back magic by Merlin’s side, isn’t it? And it’s not as if Arthur knows that his newest servant is the crown prince to Camelot’s enemy.
Surely, this won’t turn ten shades of complicated all too soon.

Summary
It was a crisp October morning, where the remnants of summer had quite briskly given way to autumn by way of dead leaves and oversized hats. When Merlin collided with someone as he rounded the corner in town, it was not in itself uncommon; Merlin had lived as many years as he had collided with people at the very least, so he was not at odds to believe that this bump was to be any different.
Arthur returns and Merlin is in a rut: a tale of grief, human awkwardness and the inevitable.
