“Just—how can you be so relaxed?” Kaelix questions instead, favouring a change of subject. He gives Wilson a long, suffering look. He doesn’t need to know that he’s hit the nail right on the head—he’s done a surprising amount of it today.
“I mean… happens all the time,” Wilson replies breezily like it’s nothing, “The door’s faulty. What do you expect from an out-of-order?”
Kaelix raises his brow, arms crossed. “Then how do you get out?”
“I'll just stay here until someone comes by. Accidents happen, y’know?”
Clearly, Kaelix muses, this has happened one too many times for it to be considered an accident.
“Just like that tent in your pants.”
Or: Kaelix and Wilson are trapped in the men’s restroom... except that one of them has a problem that shouldn’t be said out loud—or perceived, for that matter.

the corners of seible’s lips tug up some. gently—so, so gently—he cups kaelix’s cheek with his free hand, rubbing small circles right below his cheekbone. kaelix’s eyes slowly slip shut, a shaky breath leaving him. it feels instant, the way his face warms up with that simple gesture.
he doesn’t think he’ll ever get used to this sort of affection from seible; he doesn’t know what name to put to it, but what he does know is that it makes his heart quiver something awful.

For a while, Freo and Kaelix are almost convincingly well-adjusted adults about the divorce. They keep their distance, stay civil at parties, and do not, for an entire year, ostensibly make anything worse.
Which means, of course, that it’s only a matter of time before it does, in fact, get worse. In order:
- Agree to star opposite each other in an indie romance film.
- Sleep with each other before production starts (vow never to do it again).
- Do it again. Repeatedly. With no meaningful attempt to stop.

Summary
What’s a guy to do when you find out your new next neighbor is hot and might like you back? For Freodore, who just wants to keep enjoying the peace of his corner unit and be able to keep his cam work neatly under wraps, the answer is simple: retreat, regroup, and pray the universe will stop putting Kaelix Debonair of Unit 303 directly in his path (it does not).
For Kaelix? It’s a little more complicated and involves leaning into a self-imposed and somewhat accidental campaign to win over his gorgeous but likewise guarded next door neighbor (and his cat), finding increasingly creative ways to capitalize on their run-ins to make him look twice, maybe even thrice, and if he’s lucky, look long enough to notice that they’ve actually been looking each other the same way this whole time.

Kaelix feels pure hatred for public transport and has decided he needs to learn to drive as soon as possible. After being recommended by his friend, he finds himself learning to drive with Zeal Ginjoka as his teacher. He only has six months before he has to pass the test, but obstacles keep getting in the way, and now he has an attractive instructor to deal with too. What could possibly go wrong?
or: Kaelix is a disaster behind the wheel and may cause Zeal a lot of stress.
