Rosa hefted the bag over her shoulder and started to walk, her headphones already blasting music from around her neck. She’d fix her speakers one day. For now, her headphones blasting from around her neck would have to do. She adjusted the volume as she pulled the headphones up over her ears. There was no one around to complain about the noise, but she liked it better, the feeling of being surrounded by music and lost to everything else. The desert and the canal running through it helped, it stretched on before her. It seemed never ending. It seemed vast and unknowing, like the blank emptiness of space.
She always felt an affinity for the alien.

Summary
“He’s a bastard, full of fury and all the failings of his line. You’re lucky I separated the two of you when I did, before it was too late.”
Alex kept his eyes on his father, hands in the hilt of his sword. His father was wrong, he was always wrong. Michael was the best of all of them, the one who cared so much and tried to hide it. He took a step to the left, in an attempt to trick his father. It didn’t work.
“He’s a good man,” Alex said as he blocked his father’s blow, side stepping out of range again. “He’s a good man, a good knight, better than any of us. And it was too late father.” He laughed at his father’s incredulous face. “You didn’t separate us in time at all.” He laughed again. “Where do you think I spent last night?” His father’s rage was not enough to quiet his laughter.
He twirled out of his father’s way and sliced his arm while doing so. A superficial wound, but a still a wound.
“’Ours is the Fury’, father.”
Another voice broke through.
“Didn’t know you officially joined my house darling,” Michael said as he withdrew his sword from another soldier’s stomach. “I wish I had known, I have a cloak for you and everything.”- Words:

Summary
Being a paranormal investigator wasn't as exciting as it sounded.
Most of the time, Frank was walking around checking out cold spots or trying and failing to talk to spirits that weren't actually there, but a case in a Jersey suburb might turn out to be his biggest discovery yet, and one he's the least bit prepared for.
It leaves him no choice but to seek the guidance of a local priest. Frank was used to older, uncompromising sorts when it came to his rare dealings with churches, but Father Way is anything but. His interest in the case isn't strange, but his interest in Frank, however... that makes things complicated.
A dark presence begins to take hold and Frank knows he's in over his head, but he's never abandoned a case before and didn't intend to start now.
He just had to stay alive long enough to see it through.
