“Chuuya, this is the perfect opportunity to get us out of here,” Verlaine stresses, shaking Chuuya’s hands a little. “You go out there, play princey pretend as you say, for a little while, then assassinate the prince and get us out of here.”
“Fuck no,” Chuuya denies.
Or: Chuuya gets a chance at freedom for the first time in his life, courtesy of the youngest prince. Verlaine wants him to kill said prince to guarantee himself freedom, too. So Chuuya just has to assassinate the prince, killing for the first time in his life, and get away with it. Easy, right?
Or or: Disney's Descendants, but make it Soukoku.

“Which idiot is it?” Jason asked, pushing himself up from his crouch.
After a few moments and some keyboard clicks, Barbara sighed in his ear. “Nightwing,” she said, and she didn’t sound disappointed, not quite, but her tone of voice wasn’t exactly happy.

“I cannot force you,” Bruce admitted, with some effort. “I know that. So, I’m asking you instead. Please leave the patrol to your siblings and I tonight, Tim.”
Honestly, Tim was impressed. Bruce had clearly planned what he was going to say ahead of time, and Tim wouldn’t be shocked if it was written down somewhere and then rehearsed. It was firm, yet careful and open. Honest. Communicative. Things Batman usually wasn’t.
Or: Tim catches a cold. He mopes about it. Bruce is there too.

“Fuck off,” Chuuya hissed instantly, attempting to set Dazai on fire with his glare. “Fucking—get lost.”
“No can do,” Dazai replied airily, just taking another step closer until he was in range to touch Chuuya. He tried to make his body language as non-threatening as possible, but Chuuya still instinctively leaned away, and Dazai just huffed. It just had to be an injection. Couldn’t be something easier like a pill, or something, no siree. Because nothing could ever be easy, could it?
Or: Chuuya gets poisoned, and the only antidote is via injection. Predictably, he does not react well to that fact.

Jason tilted his head. “That’s it? You don’t care that I’m here?”
Dick shrugged, still watching the alley below. “Well, I’m kind of on the job, so it isn’t the best time to break down.”
Jason blinked.“Can we like… delay this?” Dick added, his voice dry. “Show up in my kitchen while I’m eating cheese out of my opened fridge?”
Or Dick thinks he's hallucinating a very real Jason and invites the "hallucination" home. Jason thinks his brother is being freakishly calm, but hey, he's being accepted as he is so he doesn't care.

Chuuya pauses to shoot her a quizzical, vaguely amused, stare. “Defile? Really?”
“Our couch? Really?”
— or the one in which Dazai experiences an identity crisis after she sees her roommate making out with someone. Drama and filth ensue.

Summary
For my Soukoku, Dazai and Chuuya have a healthy relationship. When they first met, they got off on the wrong foot, and while they became attracted to each other very quickly, neither even allowed themselves to realize it, as their subconscious was trying to protect them from rejection and they disguised their feelings as antipathy. Once they reunited in the Port Mafia's prison, they recognized their long-suppressed feelings, and so they no longer had a reason to fight (in their personal lives).
So if you're into the kind of Soukoku where they have a very unhealthy, destructive relationship - the whole I hate you but I want you - you will NOT find it here.
This series is basically slice-of-life. It begins in the Port Mafia's prison, and because that goes differently, I diverge from canon fairly quickly afterward. Think of it as the butterfly effect. Changing Dazai & Chuuya's dynamic ends up affecting broader events to create an alternate timeline. So most things from chronologically subsequent arcs won't occur in this divergence.
