Summary
“I can’t take that pain away,” Aaron murmurs apologetically, squeezing Spencer’s hand in his own like he can forcibly inject some life back into the hollow shell sitting in front of him.
Spencer’s hand floats up to Aaron’s bicep, toying with the fabric of his long sleeve absently as Aaron keeps hold of his other hand.
“I know” he starts, a distance in his voice that makes Aaron uneasy, like Spencer’s not really speaking to him, “but, maybe…”
Spencer’s eyes flutter before he looks up at Aaron, irises dark enough in the low light to hide his needle point pupils.
His hand on Aaron’s bicep slowly trails up toward his shoulder.
“Maybe, just for tonight… you could take my mind off it?”
AKA Spencer's been slowly cracking for a month. It's only a matter of time until someone else notices.

Summary
Spencer carries his exhaustion like Atlas carries the globe, dragging himself to Aaron’s side when a case has taken a toll on him, never quite initiating but looking at Aaron with those same wide eyes that tell him exactly what Spencer wants, what he needs.
Aaron meets him with open arms every time, pulling him closer to tuck him into the space where Aaron’s neck and shoulder meet, a hand on the back of his skull to keep him there so Spencer doesn’t have to worry about when he’s supposed to pull away, how long he’s allowed to indulge. It’s as rewarding for Aaron as it seems to be for Spencer.
Over the months of this slow, developing change in their dynamic, Aaron is finding that he wants nothing more than to give Spencer what he needs.
AKA Spencer has always been touch averse. Aaron is realizing he may be an exception to the rule.

Summary
“Getting bored?” Hotch’s voice pulls him out of his rumination yet again, reeling him in and bringing his attention back to the very problem at hand.
Spencer shakes his head and sighs, glancing back at JJ and Rossi’s darts game before giving Hotch a halfhearted smile, more of a pursing of his lips than anything.
“To be honest I’ve been bored since the second I realized that they’re going to keep doing this for the rest of the night.”
Rossi harasses JJ to just take her shot already and Hotch drops his chin with a smile. After a moment he glances over again through dark eyelashes curtaining darker eyes, thoughtfully studying Spencer before a sly grin creeps across his dimpled cheeks, one thick eyebrow raising in a way Spencer can only describe as mischievous.
He nods to the still unoccupied pool table.
“You wanna play?”
AKA after being served divorce papers in front of his whole team, no one is expecting Hotch to honor his agreement to come out for drinks with them. He shows up anyway.

Summary
Spencer takes Hotch’s hand in his own and brings it across the space between them to rest over his knees, cradled in both of his hands like something precious. Hotch doesn’t object, silently watching Spencer’s movements with a wary tilt of his head.
“Do you always change parts of yourself to manage other’s perceptions?” The question trips past Spencer's lips before he can think better of it.
Hotch tenses, his hand clenching and unclenching in Spencer’s hold like he wants to pull away from the conversation, from Spencer. His hand stays in place.
“Doesn’t everyone?” He asks quietly, and something about his tone makes Spencer look up for the first time since he started this bizarre interrogation.
Spencer almost doesn’t want to break it to him.
“No,” he says, looking back to the hand in his lap and lacing their fingers together for a selfish moment, a breath, “not everyone.”
AKA A night out with the team quickly devolves, and Spencer’s still dizzy trying to put it back together.

Summary
He’s interrupted by the sound of stomping feet on hardwood running towards him.
“Dad Dad Dad,” Jack chants as he sprints into Aaron’s legs full speed, almost knocking him over as he wraps his arms around his Dad and looks up at him with his most perfected puppy dog eyes, “are we still getting breakfast? I want the big pancake!”
Aaron can’t stop the grin that spreads across his lips as he steadies himself, resting a hand on the top of Jack’s head and petting over his hair lovingly as Jack rests his chin on Aaron’s stomach to look up at him.
“Yeah buddy, we can go to breakfast,” he nods, helpless to deny those big brown eyes.
Aka Aaron and Jack's Father-son day and all the ups and downs that come with it.

Summary
While Aaron Hotchner trains for his upcoming triathlon, fate intervenes and instead of meeting Beth, he runs into Spencer.

However, there’s little time to dwell on it. Both men are abruptly called into work, where Erin Strauss hands them a case unlike any other. For two years, queer couples who've attended an exclusive “Retreat and Therapy Centre” have turned up dead in their homes, one by one, after their stay.
Now Hotch and Reid must go undercover as a couple inside Daniel Bartlett’s secluded program, posing as partners in need of “treatment.” Their mission: uncover who is targeting the attendees before another pair ends up dead.
The closer they get to the truth, and to each other, the more dangerous the unusual assignment becomes.

“Why do you let people treat you like that?” He murmured, taking a step towards the shaky young thing that was wobbling on his overly thin limbs like a newborn foal. Like he knew exactly what Aaron wanted to do to him, could sense the man’s ever-weakening self control. Like Spencer knew how much danger he was in.
He paused, his brow furrowing in confusion that gave Aaron the impression Spencer had somehow never met any of the people he had slept with, “Treat me like what?”
