Shane’s heart dropped. He nodded once and sat up straighter, shoulders rolled back. “It is. I’m sorry if this is too far or whatever, but it’s what I want and I have to ask for what I want. It’s okay if you don’t want to. I’m not going to break up with you over this.” Or anything, really. Even if Ilya said he couldn’t stay a secret and wanted to fuck other people, Shane would let him.
Ilya’s own heart split in two at that. He turned, metal scraping wood on the deck, and took both of Shane’s hands in his. Time and trust linked their fingers together automatically.
“I’m not saying I do not want this,” Ilya began. Shane let out a small breath, shoulders relaxing. “But you must know, the things you are coming up with for sex are not things I have done.”
Something about the cottage made him be honest. Maybe it was the promise last summer of being honest and saying how they really felt. Maybe it was the distance between that unknown precipice and the leap of faith they took together. Whatever it was, Ilya had to come clean if he was going to keep giving Shane whatever his brain and body wanted.

Harry needs to practise his sermon reading, and Louis is happy to help him in the pulpit. It's getting harder for Harry to admit he doesn't want Louis spiritually.
Louis squirms against the pulpit, as though trying to turn around, but Harry keeps a firm press on his back, pinning him against the wood. “Can’t see the crucifix,” Louis groans out, eventually. It’s only then that Harry realises this is the first time their activities haven’t centred around the crucifix, around the reminder of God’s omnipotence. He can’t find it in himself to care.
Moving his hand down towards Louis’ neck, he wraps his fingers around it, dragging Louis upwards so that he can continue to kiss up and down his neck with each thrust. “You’re mine, little lamb. Not God’s, yeah? Just mine.”

Louis’ breath hitched, not quite registering the honorary term the man used for him but fully recognizing two things; first, the black crown of thorns on top of his head, making the dark veil that covered his face sit in place. There was a symbol on his chest, two serpents intertwined in what appeared to be a circle, who represented Orcus' connection with life and death. A reminder to everyone in the order that death was constant, and infinite.
The man who stood in front of him, tense and alert, was a knight, an Orcus’ knight. Louis took an uneven breath.
