"Is there something you enjoy that you've never mentioned to me?" Regulus asked.
James had frowned before answering. "I don't know, like what, a band?"
Regulus laughed. "No, silly, I mean something like... in bed."
"Oh. I don't know, I guess not. I think I'm a bit basic in this aspect." He replies with an clumsy laugh.
"Isn't there anything you'd be curious to try?"
"I can't think of anything right now."
Regulus analyzes it for a few seconds, not in an intimidating way but carefully.
“Seriously? You have such a pleading look on your face.” Regulus says in a low, melodious voice. “Those eyes of yours… Almost like puppy eyes.”
James' smile fades. His mouth hangs open and dry. No sound comes out.
Regulus grins slightly.

The amount of times James had opened his browser and typed in “what is wrong with me” was probably alarming. The things that came up were stupid. Cheap psychology articles and mental health preaching.
“'What Is Wrong With Me?' What to Do If You Feel This Way” was the first result that came up from a website called wellmindstoday.com. It was probably trying to sell James something. A therapy app, a workbook, a guided meditation. Something stupid and wrapped up in a capitalist agenda. The article was tagged with things like “worthless,” “lonely,” “how to get out of a rut,” and “personality disorder.
James pulled into the car park. He didn’t get out. He sat in the darkness of the car and read the stupid fucking article.

He grabbed the mug from Regulus’s hand, swallowed the rest of the liquid in one gulp, and tossed it unceremoniously onto the carpeted floor. “Love. I can take ‘annoying’ and ‘obnoxious’ and ‘not special.’ But ‘not that attractive?’ You wound me.”
Regulus just grinned, leaning forward to nip at James’s defined, stubble-covered jawline and whisper in his ear. “Hm. How on earth will I make it up to you, then?”
