The pain is no longer sharp—just deep and consuming. It throbs with his heartbeat. Every pulse reminds him he’s still here.
Still breathing.
Still inconveniently alive.
Tim considers staying right where he is up against the tree.
The bleeding will do the hard part—eventually. Hypothermia would help. He’s already soaked from the river anyway and the night air is cold enough to bite. He could close his eyes—rest maybe—stop fighting for once.
The city lights blur and flicker in the distance.
No one would know exactly where he is. Maybe not for another few hours or so. They’d search for a while, then when they find Tim maybe he won’t be here anymore.
His good hand rests limp over his stomach.
I’m so tired...
He thinks bleakly the kind of tiredness that settles into your bones and not just your muscles.Tim’s eyes flutter shut against the night. Keeping them open requires too much effort.
His breathing slows, the sound of the water trickling by keeps him semi present, and for a moment—suspended between pain and sleep—Timothy Drake genuinely hopes he doesn’t wake up.

Summary
“I’m tired, Hood.” He finally admits voice low.
The wind rips through the rooftop again whistling past the two men. Dick looks down at his side, the pain is coming back in full force now that he’s stopped trying to fight it.
“I just want to sleep,” he adds quietly. “Get some actual medical care for once instead of stitching everything on my own. Eat a cheeseburger and drink coffee like a normal freakin’ person.”
Dick can’t stop himself exhaling a laugh at the simplicity of his request, his hands trembling at his sides. “But I can’t. Because someone always needs something from me.”
The anger that’s been stewing beneath his ribs drains out of him as fast as it had come. Leaving him standing there on the rooftop feeling more exhausted than furious.
“I love you guys,” he admits more so to himself, than to Jason. His chest constricting despite his steady breathing visible against the dim sodium lights of the roof. “But I’m only one person.”

“Want one?” Yuki offered, extending the tin canister. Hitoshi nodded, but quickly realized he was still wearing the muzzle. Out of instinct he shook his head, but Yuki just rolled her eyes and undid one of the straps on his jaw.
The clicking sound turned Hitoshis body on autopilot and he scrambled to remove it fully while Yuki let out a small laugh and leaned forward with a lighter. “I kinda forgot what your face looked like Toshi.” Yuki joked, inhaling deeply before exhaling a puff of smoke. Her fluffy hair out of sorts even more than it was last night.
When Hitoshi finally took off his muzzle it felt like a little ounce of freedom in an otherwise shitty life.
“Me too,” He agreed mindlessly
Sometimes it was hard to differentiate his two lives the line that separated them got thinner and blurrier as more time passed.* * *
After months of training with Aizawa, Hitoshi thinks he is prepared for anything. Though apparently not prepared for when his mentor comes to training frustrated and ends up taking it out on his student and unintentionally hurting him. Of course, as any teacher would, Shouta feels bad and offers to help his student. Long story short, the injury wasn't Hitoshis first.

Summary
There was always a certain shift that happened in Batman whenever he talked to kids that were hurt or scared.
He would speak more softly, maybe even kneel down in front of them to personally assure them that they were safe now. It made sense, Tim thought, to not want to intimidate those that he was supposed to be protecting.
And, it made sense on a deeper level too because Batman wasn’t just Batman, he was Bruce Wayne, and had only been a kid himself when he watched his parents die. He knew what it was like to be scared, to be upset, to be hurting.
But Tim Drake is not a child, he never has been. Sure, he was hurt and bleeding, and could very well be dying, but it wasn't like he deserves to have Batman speak to him so softly. Then again, this was what Tim always wanted, wasn't it?

Summary
The only thing that has brought on the slightest relief since Bruce first did this to Jason was the Joker’s toxin. It washed every last dredge of fear away and left only amusement in its place. For the first time in a long time, Jason could breathe. But there are a million reasons why Jason would have to be a complete idiot to utilize that method again.
Even that mild dose the Joker gave him was more than enough to have Jason feeling invincible. No fear, no hang-ups. He felt immortal—and even if he did end up bleeding, the pain was too fucking funny to worry about. He’d never felt so free in his life.
Jason nearly asked the clown for an extra dose for the road, but he knows better than anyone what a slippery slope that can be. He saw it on the streets, in both his parents, in Roy’s eyes every time he finds himself craving a drink. Jason could never allow himself to take such a dumb risk.
So, Jason endures.

"You know,” Ra’s said, “I haven’t anything prepared, Timothy, I do apologize. This has been nothing but a fortuitous happenstance. I had planned on pursuing you again in the future, of course, but I took our meeting at that gathering as an act of fate and had no choice but to take the opportunity in the moment."
He looked at Jason with displeasure. “You, however, were never part of any plan.” He rubbed his beard thoughtfully. “What to do with you, Jason Todd?”
