    Summary

After retiring, Asa and Anthony move to the South Downs, far from the fast life of London. On their mantelpiece, amongst framed pictures and decorative knickknacks, a snow globe gathers dust as it slowly goes forgotten.

    ***

Anathema, my dear girl, do you want one?” Asa asked once Newton was served too.

“Sure,” she answered in an absent voice.

    “You alright?” Anthony asked.

“Yeah. Say, where did you get that snow globe?”

Asa frowned, rubbing his palm at the back of his neck where he could feel his hairs rising up. “What snow globe?” he asked absentmindedly, without looking at her.

Silence stretched for a few seconds as Ana watched the globe in her hands, barely tilting it to the side, the white powder inside moving slightly. Anthony winced, a little flash of pain poking him behind the eyes. He reached inside his breast pocket for a pair of dark sunglasses, and replaced his normal ones.

“Never mind,” Anathema said, shaking her head.

She placed the globe on the mantel and took the cup of tea offered by Asa.

Fresh off a bitter divorce, Aziraphale fabricates a perfect marriage to get hired at a wedding magazine—just a stepping stone on the way to his dream career. It's a foolproof plan, until he needs to produce said husband for the magazine's annual couples retreat.

Enter Crowley, his best friend's mysterious cousin, who agrees, for his own reasons, to play fake husband for a week—no strings attached, no messy complications.

One problem: the more Aziraphale discovers about the real man behind the act, the less fake his feelings become.

The humans were curious about him, Crowley knew that. Who wouldn’t be? Man-shaped thing shows up on your local pub's doorstep, mute, scowling, and desperate, takes up residence in its worst room for months, drinks about four bottles of whiskey a day, doesn’t eat a damned thing, and yet refuses to die - you’d be curious too, wouldn’t you?

Sometimes he’d overhear them whispering about him, staff and customers alike.

“Is that another bottle?” One lady would mutter disapprovingly.

“Heartbreaking to see someone waste away their life like that,” sighed a woman to her partner.

“Why’s he wearing sunglasses inside?” A kid asked his dad, tugging on the man’s sleeve.

“Do you mind if I take this seat?” Asked a man at Crowley’s elbow.

He turned to look at the newcomer. He was smiling widely, his eyes crinkling at the corners. The man’s nose was slightly upturned and his hair a crown of ruffled white curls.

OR: After resorting to extreme measures to avert the apocalypse, a very miserable Crowley retreats to somewhere close to his heart and drowns his sorrows for months until his wallowing is interrupted by a mysterious stranger who knows more than he ought to and simply won't shut up.

    Summary

Shrugging one shoulder far more casually than he possibly feels, Ilya says, “I like both. Is secret, okay?”

    “Okay,” Hollander says, voice cracking.

He doesn’t say anything else. The air’s so heavy around them that it feels like being in the middle of a scrum, the weight and heat of all those bodies pressing down on you. Danger always feels like hockey; it’s the most dangerous thing Ilya knows, except for this. Everything dangerous in his life involves men’s bodies and just how close he can get to them. Closer than he probably should.

A year after mysteriously dropping out of the 2009 draft, Shane Hollander is signed by the Boston Raiders, right behind Ilya Rozanov. Having the two biggest stars in the league on the same line is great for Boston — but playing alongside their worst rival was never exactly in Shane or Ilya's plans. Especially not when staying away from each other starts to feel just as impossible as getting along.

    Summary

Shhh, shhh, listen. Listen. Alright… Listen,” Crowley hears himself babble, his mouth taking over while his mind short circuits in panic.

Shushing is hardly necessary. Aziraphale is staring up at Crowley with his mouth hanging open, no sound coming out. He's unfairly gorgeous in the golden lamplight, cocooned by ridiculous tartan sheets and far too many throw pillows. All glowing and pink in the face from their earlier exertions leading up to that sad, deflated balloon of a conclusion.

After an agonising beat, Aziraphale snaps his jaw shut and offers Crowley an impossibly gentle smile. “I'm all ears, my dear,” he murmurs. There’s that blasted gentleness again.

It's all somehow worse than if he were upset.

Aziraphale and Crowley's first time in bed together goes about as smoothly as the rest of their relationship.

    (They get there eventually.)
