“We were in Trauma one just now, Dennis and Robby glued at the hips as usual.”
Everyone knows Dennis is Robby’s favorite.
Trinity couldn't even pretend to be working at this point.
“You know how Robby is always touching and grabbing him? Well, today he hasn’t touched him once, even retracted his hand when he went to do it out of habit.”
“Tsk, girl.”
“That’s it?”
“What do you mean ‘that’s it’? This is serious!”
“Robby stopped touching Huckleberry. So what? That’s a good thing!”
or
Robby stops touching Whitaker, everyone wonders why.

Dennis's breath hitches, his blood runs cold. All he hears is a low ringing as the world narrows and narrows to the phone in Lena’s hand. Code Yellow. Code Yellow. Code Yellow.

“I think we should get married,” Robby says, apropos of fucking nothing.
“Yeah?” Dennis tries to sound nonchalant. He doesn't succeed. His voice cracks in the middle of the word, upticks in pitch at the end.
He clears his throat.

"I guess we should probably start telling people now."
Robby chuckled and shook his head. "I hate to tell you this, Whit. But I'm pretty sure everyone already knows."

Summary
Dennis and Robby promised to keep things professional which meant keeping their work and personal lives separate. That was the deal. But with people constantly commenting on how Robby acts around Dennis, he can't help but feel like he's missing something. Or maybe he's just losing his mind.

“You have twenty-five minutes until Jack will have your head,” Robby says against his lips. “You should go.”
Dennis captures him in another kiss. They linger, breathing each other in. “Stay safe tonight. Have fun. Say hi to Jake. It’ll be good for you today to have your mind off things.”
The necklace holding his wedding band radiates warmth against Dennis’ chest.
Or, Robby goes to Pittfest as planned, while Dennis starts his first day at the Emergency Department.

Summary
Robby has one job: keep things professional at work.
The problem? He keeps calling Dennis "sweetheart." And "baby." In front of the entire ER staff.
(Or: Five months into their secret relationship, Robby's brain refuses to switch between "boyfriend mode" and "attending physician mode," and Dennis is going to have a heart attack before anyone figures it out. Spoiler alert: they figure it out.)

Summary
“Too hard to sleep knowing I’m there?” He teases, Robby smiles. Flicking away the ash as he lets out a low chuckle. “Something like that.”
Dennis snorts, staring at his fingers as he tugs at the edge of his blanket. Robby keeps his hands to himself for a bit, it registers distantly that his face is slightly numb from the cold. But Robby is out here, and the bed is far colder when he’s alone than the balcony is when Robby is next to him.
Robby sets his lips, stroking his beard in thought for a moment before he speaks. Far too calm.
“Did you know I never wanted to get married?”
Dennis looks up, the words falling flat between them.
Oh.
Well, no. He didn’t know that.
“Uh, no.” Dennis stills, his jaw surely hangs open. His eyes sting inexplicably at this revelation.
Or maybe it isn’t so inexplicable. Maybe he knows why it hurts. Of course he does. Because Dennis does want to get married. And he can’t imagine that with anyone but Robby.
Or
Robby never wanted to get married, that is, until he met Dennis. He tells him as much, albeit inefficiently at first.

Summary
The first time someone tells you that they love you, the words are written on your skin. Gold for platonic love, red for romantic. Of course, people don't often say 'I love you' directly, but Tony in particular tends to give really strange marks.
A lot of people had unusual words from Tony Stark, and Bucky wasn't sure why he wasn't one of them.
*Now updated with chapter 2 alternate ending*

Summary
Tony's injured, night is falling, and he's stranded in a cabin with a handful of teammates who are woefully under-equipped to deal with the oncoming wave of HYDRA soldiers that are about to blow down their door and pick them off.
Honestly though, Tony's more pissed about the fact that this all happened during Christmas. Were everything going to plan, he'd be copping a feel with Captain America under the mistletoe right about now.
Sometimes he really hates his job.

Summary
Every morning since Tony had invited the Avengers to stay at the tower, Steve has come down early and started a pot of coffee before getting himself some breakfast and finding the newspaper. Clint was the first to notice, seeing that the Captain never drank any coffee. And then like magic, a sleepy Stark would wander down the hallway, as if drawn by the scent of caffeine, and crawl over to where he'd find a mug waiting for him.
They didn't call him Hawkeye for no reason. He noticed things, and tried to make sense of them. But it happened every day.
OR Clint's noticing Steve and Tony's odd behavior, but they're not dating. Not at all. ;)
