Hans watches as Henry packs his bags silently. Watches as potions and food for the ride back to the rebuilt Skalitz goes into the saddlebag, right next to the book Henry has been reading and the journal he likes to put his thoughts in, the inkwell and feather pen sitting on the table about to join as well. It’s proof that Henry really is going, really leaving him behind for an unknown time in their quaint cabin in the woods. Nothing fit for a nobleman, of course, but then again Hans isn’t really a noble anymore.

Hans feels it coming about a week before, how the everpresent pressure in his lower belly suddenly lifts, the tingling that starts soon after. He can feel himself get slowly warmer, the linen shirt he always wears under his pourpoint no longer needed or he will overheat. Preferably he would remove the pourpoint all together, but that wouldn’t be proper. How the everpresent want for Henry slowly turns to a full blown need, simply thinking of him makes Hans want to go over and burrow into his arms. How the mark, high on his thigh, starts pulsing in a very pleasant way as his scent glands work themselves up to being inflamed. He also feels the familiar sensation of dread, of slight fear and apprehension before he remembers.
