Strider figures trying to summon corporeal demons to the mortal plane to fight other demons is likely to backfire spectacularly. Sadly for him his inner Knight gets the vapors at the thought of letting anyone else play guinea pig.

John is revived on Theseus about a year into the trip, and he’s come back both ascended and depressed. He disassociates often, which for him is a lot more literal than most. Dirk brings out a side of sadism John didn’t realise he had in him and John brings out sadomasochism that Dirk was well aware he had in him. It’s kind of romantic.
