Summary
Following the A Life to Paint ending, Verso comes into painter powers due to his time spent in the heart of the canvas. Impulsively fracturing their world to escape Maelle's vision for him he unwittingly takes a considerable part of the canvas' population with him to the other side. Across a newly formed barrier, former members of Expedition 33 wish to reunite the two halves. Verso, figuring he is the only painter who genuinely cares about the painted peoples, refuses to grant their wish.
Or - Gustave and Verso come to be in a conflicted relationship post Maelle's epilogue.

Summary
You were wrong to read Death Note as Light Yagami’s story. It was Ryuk’s.
Plot-heavy, dark and extremely violent Ryght.
Turns out Ryuk bald-faced lied about having not chosen Light to use the Death Note. That's probably the least frightening thing the shinigami had been dishonest with him about. Subjected to eternal torment only partly disguised as pleasure, the incredible strength of Light Yagami's personality, humanity, and convictions waver as the least-deserving God between them gobbles up all his time having locked him into a nonconsensual partnership.

Fast forward a few years and Light Yagami is a realtor in York, England, vying for the title of Realtor King from the current champ. He's determined to sell this discount mansion with a bad reputation, whatever it takes. Sure, it might be filthy, dusty, falling down, and infested with a shinigami, but it's got good bones and Light's got big dreams.
But just as Light starts to make friends with the mansion's ghost, a certain ghost-hunting detective gets wind that something spooky may be going on here.

However, when Ryuk becomes co-writer of the story, things might get more ‘entertaining.’
