He tilted his head up, cooing seductively, “Come on, alpha, aren’t you going to take care of me?” His legs slid open the tiniest bit in invitation and Yor was gone, replaced with someone she didn’t recognize, because she had never acted so feral in her life.
A growl tore from her throat and in a split second she pounced, lean athletic thighs seated on either side of him and trapping himself under her. She’d underestimated the omega though because he refused to submit, of course he wouldn’t, it wasn’t in his nature as a spy—and instead bucked under her, trying to throw the alpha off.
The thrill of it made her blood ignite like liquid fire and she found herself grinning widely.
Yor's target of the night was not the omega currently writhing and grinding against his hand on the hotel bed while in the throes of his heat but that didn't necessarily mean she could make her feet move long enough to leave. She was nothing if not adaptable though.
Realizing she'd want him more than a night, however, was not something she knew how to deal with.

There are some instances where omegas get completely caught up in their instincts due to neglecting themselves or horrendously bad habits that also harm themselves. Ergo — Shinjuro drinks, and he also doesn’t take care of himself that well.
He figured out that the drinking was causing this omega headspace, and was also harming his sons, and so he stopped drinking, which helped alleviate the problem a little. But, Shinjuro was also still not properly taking care of himself, a subconscious punishment for himself, and so this little instinct slip keeps happening.
And a common thing for omegas to want to do in their instincts is have their mate and their pups all together in one big nest.
But Ruka is not with them anymore, long departed from the mortal plane.
Shinjuro could not remember that, in this state.
And so he must go find Ruka.
He does not find Ruka.
But he definitely finds… *someone*.

Then again, the younger prince may have only been half-listening. His eyes had been drawn to the horses we had arrived on, leaving his older brother to carry a more scrutinous gaze. Neither of them appeared to be the monstrous spawn described in rumor. The marking across the older prince’s face and the scars the young bore were certainly eye-catching, but they were on the same level as their father’s towering, multi-limbed figure.
