“You can totally stay the night if you want,” Reki told him reassuringly, following his line of sight out the window of the family room. “It’s Saturday, my parents won’t care at all! Plus, we can see more of these sick bails.” They’d been watching wipe outs for far longer than either would like to admit, but their sides splitting in laughter was a welcome distraction from the weather outside.
“Really? I don’t want to impose…”
Reki had to stop himself from spilling his purse all over the snack wrapper-covered kotatsu. He desperately wanted to tell Langa he’d been dreaming of this very situation for weeks now, that he was jumping at the opportunity for him to have Langa over for more than just a few hours. It had just never seemed organic, and he’d never been able to justify asking his best friend to stay the night that didn’t sound ridiculous in his head. Reki thought for certain that Langa didn’t know how he truly felt about him, and inviting him to spend the night at his house seemed like a major indicator of his feelings that he wasn’t quite brave enough to say out loud.

Summary
Langa Hasegawa wasn’t an exceedingly perceptive person. When it came down to it he was pretty oblivious to most things. But if there was one thing that Langa paid ample attention to, it was Reki Kyan. And his expertise told him that something was off today.
