Summary
When Ivan tastes death, it tastes like Till, phantom lips still lingering on his own and claiming one final part of Till’s life. He meets Till’s eyes as he goes, and sees nothing but the shock and confusion he expected. Behind that, however, is light, and Ivan bleeds out knowing he is seen.
All that being said, he wakes up only a few moments later to the quiet humming of another person—Till, he recognises immediately—singing quietly beside him.

“Your Majesty,” Rashta said, tears gathering in her eyes. “I didn’t know how to tell you this, so I kept it a secret, but His Majesty said he’s going to divorce you.” Rashta looked genuinely distressed, and it took Navier less than a second to pull her into her own arms, rubbing small circles on her back.
“Thank you for telling me,” Navier responded. “I already have a plan, but I need to know you’re on board before I give you the details.”
Rashta moved from the embrace to look at Navier, her lover, her life, and nodded. “Tell me. I won’t tell anyone, promise."
“I’m going to marry King Heinrey,” she said, to Rashta’s gasp, “and I’d like to bring you with me to the Western Kingdom.”
When Navier's husband brings home a concubine, she isn't quite sure what to do. To despair would be normal, but concubines were quite normal in high society. Instead, she kept to her own business, engaging with the surprisingly kind and charming concubine as little as possible. She didn't expect herself to be wrapped up in Rashta's web, falling for not only the young woman her husband had brought home, but also a handsome foreign prince.

Summary
After an exhausting mission, Deon finds a small baby, no older than a few weeks, alone and crying. He decides to take care of it.
Cavert takes a deep breath and turns himself to face Deon, placing a steadying hand on Deon’s own hand. Deon, in turn, looks surprised and a little icy, but makes no effort to remove Cavert’s hand. “The DNA used was mine and yours.”
“Mine and yours…” Deon repeats. “MINE AND YOURS?”
Cavert hastily claps a hand over Deon’s mouth. “You’ll wake him.”
“We have a child,” Deon rationalises. “I have a child? I’m a father. Oh my God, I’m a father.” He seems to be unable to keep his thoughts inside and is mumbling nonsensically to himself. Cavert sits patiently and waits for Deon to come to his senses again. “December is my son?” he asks, to confirm.
“He’s our son, yes.”

Summary
Daan doesn’t know how he left on the train to Prehevil with not a soul in the world to care about him, but returned with two kids.
Taking Levi in was an obvious choice. As the only doctor of the group, someone had to oversee Levi during his rehabilitation. The boy had expressed many times that he hated being addicted to heroin, so Daan immediately agreed to help him. Even though he never took the Hippocratic Oath, he still feels obligated to help every life he sees if they need it.
Marina was less obvious and less necessary. She expressed interest in staying with Levi wherever he went since the two had become friends quickly—likely due to their age and Marina’s kindness—but had nowhere she wanted to return to. Vatican city didn’t feel right, she had said, not with all she knows now. And staying in Prehevil wasn’t even an option anymore. His bleeding heart accepted her right after she pouted at the prospect of finding a new place to live.
Perhaps he just didn't want to feel lonely anymore.
Or, the one in which Daan becomes a father and Levi and Marina are better for it.

literally my fav series of ALL time. evitative is a classic and should be read by everyone, even those who dislike drarry cause it’s barely there. 100/10. iconic.
also a dissection of the dark arts as something not entirely evil? sign me UP!!! i LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing people make magic out to be inherently neutral!!
