Summary

Sirius raises his eyebrows and laughs as well. “No, I don’t think we are talking about the same person at all.”

Summary
In the eternity he has spent shackled to his master’s will, he has never been on a hunt quite like this.
At a grand Midwinter ball in the Szarr residence with all of high society and the brightest minds of Baldur's Gate and beyond in attendance, Astarion is tasked with the idea of finding a peerless scholar of infernal magic to cater to his master's unknown whim.
And if that scholar happens to reek of sunlight and blue skies that threaten to break through the eternal night in his mind... perhaps he can claim some echo of that for himself before her inevitable demise.
Or: Several years before the game, Astarion is tasked with finding a scholar on infernal magic to provide the last puzzle piece missing from Cazador's ritual.
By chance, he manages to find the wizard he's looking for at the Szarr palace's Midwinter ball: magical tutor to Wyll Ravengard, former partner of Gale of Waterdeep in matters academic and beyond, and the first person to actively resist his own extensive charms in more than a century.
As they strike a unique partnership, events around them begin to spiral out of control, particularly as Astarion realises he can use her for his own benefit rather than that of his master.

She's falling head-over-barefeet for the party's resident vampire spawn, Astarion, whose tumultuous past is ready to reclaim him... Just like hers is.

Retelling of canon as well as my own stuff thrown in. As in, I’ve added some of my own plot to this as it relates to my OC’s story. I also try to make the canon bits my own so it isn’t too rehashy. First part of fic is them falling for each other, the rest will be establishing their relationship and facing everything as a couple.
Romance, humor, probably drama - who knows? We'll see as we go. Very much a self-indulgent fic involving my OC from the game and, of course, our favorite sassy vampire spawn.
Updates happen as they happen - no set schedule. :) I write/post as I'm inspired, but do intend to finish someday.

Well, if that was her idea of enticing conversation, it was no wonder she had all those evenings free to chase after scoundrels like him. Still, Astarion didn’t want to antagonize her further and ruin the game, so he pursed his lips and guessed, “A very large, well-placed cannon?”
“Tax fraud.”
She looked at him as if she expected some sort of reaction – maybe a dramatic gasp? A palm flung to his forehead in a theatrical rendition of How could I not think of this?
Everything he could muster was a blink. “Tax … fraud.”
She nodded, obviously excited about what Astarion was sure were two of the most boring words in the English language, combined.
