Summary
“There were some survivors of Kodos’ massacre and genocide.” Next slide, image of a child on a biobed being healed by a Starfleet-garbed nurse. “Most of the 10,000 or so survivors of Tarsus IV were young adults. Several children were found who had lied about their age to survive or who had hidden in basements or walls. However, the majority were Earth men between the ages of 16 and 35. Almost everyone older had died by phaser or starvation, and almost everyone younger as well. Many women did not survive, as Kodos had decreed they were to receive half rations.”
Next slide. Kodos’ inner rooms. His crumpled dead body visible behind his monstrous desk.Tarsus IV leaves its scars, and recovery takes time for those who were lucky, or unlucky, enough to survive horrors. James Kirk is one of them.

Frodo was young, and he didn't like being excluded from anything. It just made him… nosy. It was the day of a Party, and for once, in the Shire, Frodo had a chance to use all that Tookish curiosity.
After all, at Bilbo’s Party, there would be Dwarves.Frodo Baggins was reasonably sure that he had heard at least the basics of his Uncle Bilbo's adventure, with the dwarves and the dragon. That reasonable assumption went out the window when he meets a most unexpected person at Bilbo's eleventy-first birthday party. In which the dead never died, the truth-tellers lied, and the story goes on anyway.
