"They're kids!" Jay splutters, "kids I tell you!"
Sunghoon laughs, making his nth coffee of the day. "Technically Jungwon is only 2 years younger than us."
"Well, Ni-ki's 3 years younger than us!"
Sunghoon laughs again, walking over and patting Jay on the back, before sitting down next to him. Sunoo, who's sitting across the two of them, grins, "I can't believe you're taking this worse than Heeseung Hyung and Jake Hyung, like, their kids are dating each other."
"Heeseung cried," Sunghoon adds, "I wouldn't call that taking it well."
"At least he's not still panicking over it at breakfast," Sunoo says, jabbing a fork in Jay's direction.
"That's 'cause he doesn't wake up before 11 on off days and right now it's 8:30."
Jay just groans, loudly enough for Sunghoon and Sunoo to both stop bickering and shoot the older worried looks. "Jay," Sunghoon says, soft and taunting all at once in a way that only Park Sunghoon can pull off. "You good?" He asks through a giggle, and Jay wills the butterflies out of his stomach because for fuck's sake there are more important issues at hand right now!
a.k.a Jungwon and Ni-ki announce that they're dating and Jay has a quarter-life crisis.

“First of all,” Chan sighs, the bags under his eyes revealing how exhausted he is, “I’m glad none of you are injured.”
“I have a bruise on my shin,” Jeongin chirps, just to be helpful. He immediately regrets it when he sees the overflowing worry on Jisung’s face and the way Hyunjin looks like he’s about to have a stroke. “It doesn’t hurt. I’m fine,” He immediately amends.
“You,” Changbin seems torn between praising Jeongin or scolding him, “Roundhouse kicked him in the crotch.” He accusingly points to wide-eyed Felix next, “And you swung him around like you were playing helicopter and he was the skipping rope.” Changbin flits his eyes to Seungmin, sees the smile of no regrets, and weakly buries his face in his hands, “I don’t even want to think about what you did.”
Minho winces, scrolling through his phone, “We’re viral. We’re so, so viral.”
(Or, BokSeungAh, and their tendency to be badass when the hyungs aren’t there to stop them.)

Jay rubbed the sleep from his eyes to see a figure in black silhouetted against his moonlit window. The figure wore a bone-white mask whose mouth was warped into an eternal scream. He also, crucially, had a knife in his hand. He hefted it high as he loomed over Jay, as if he was about to stab him.
Jay laughed right in the masked man’s face.

Jake phone buzzed insistently on the nightstand, displaying a cascade of notifications. Work emails that had arrived overnight, social media updates from university friends who seemed to be thriving in their post-graduation lives, and a single missed call from his parents in Australia.
The rest of the day passed in a haze. Jake cleaned out his desk drawers with the mechanical precision of someone trying not to think too hard about what they were doing. Sunghoon stopped by around lunch, perching on the edge of the desk with a concerned expression.
"Heard you're taking some time off," Sunghoon said. "Where will you go?"
"Jeju," he said finally. "I think I'll go to Jeju."
