Summary
Ed blinks awake, the sun warm on his skin, his skin warm from the press of Stede along his side. It’s going to be a lovely day.

Summary
“This is not what you’re into.”
And, well, yeah. Shane has his preferences. Loves the weight and pressure of Ilya inside of him, loves feeling a little bit owned, a lottabit his. But it’s not like he needs it every time. He’s okay with a spitty handjob or the hot, wet suction of Ilya’s mouth, or the press in of his fingers (long, dexterous, calloused— Shane starts drifting off a little.)

Summary
Ed is allergic to the tree.
It kind of sucks, because he lugged the huge fucking thing in here, got all cute and settled at the foot of it, waiting for Stede to waltz in and find him wrapped up like a present, and he can’t stop sniffling and sneezing. This was supposed to be his sweet little holiday moment; a fuck by the fireplace, on the rug beneath the tree, and it’s all ruined. He stays put regardless. There are still merits to a fuck while you’re having allergies, and Ed is willing to push through to reap the rewards.

Summary
Ed stands in front of the mirror and puts his hands on his belly. There’s nothing there, really. Just the pudge of comfort, of settling down. He purses his lips at the picture he makes. A man longing for something he can’t have.

Summary
Currently, Ed is backed into a corner and hyperventilating. Just as a quick check in on how he’s doing.
“Ed,” Stede is saying. But Stede doesn’t look like Stede, and honestly? That’s not even the problem. The problem is the other thing.

Summary
Stede sits with his beer and watches her smile, watches her trace idle fingers through her hair; steeple her fingers delicately over the little songbird at her collarbone. His heart aching, bursting, spilling hot and vivid into his chest cavity. It’s the sort of thing that could kill a man, loving like this. Luckily, Stede’s always been a little hard to kill.

Summary
“Yeah,” the man said. He gestured at the fence and the trees past it. “I live here - uh, do you want to stay at my place while you call a tow truck?”
“Oh I couldn’t possibly,” Stede said. “I’m sure you have places to be!”
“Nah, I was just headed home, it’s no big deal. You can’t sit here in a wrecked car, man.”
Stede looked at the man, who didn’t seem like a murderer, and then at his car. The airbag was still making a sad hissing noise. It was getting very cold, very quickly, and the water coming through the door had already soaked through one leg of his pants.
“Okay,” he said. He opened the door fully and was hit by a wall of freezing water. “Fuck!”
On what is already the worst day of his life, Stede crashes his car. Then he's rescued by a mysterious stranger, and his day goes from bad to fantastic, actually.
