Summary
Jack’s had a long day.
“Any inquiries about bookings or appointments are usually better done over the phone, during the day,” he says, giving the standard response to walk-in clients and letting his voice fall flat. He doesn’t mention that the current waiting list for a shoot is at least six months.
The man winces. “Yeah, I um, I know that. I saw your website.” The man bites at his lip while he looks at the wall, and Jack is about to remind him of the studio’s hours, but then the kid peaks out from behind their dad’s legs and Jack’s heart goes into his throat.
He’s going to be staying a little bit longer. -

Showering the dried sweat and hockey smell off after on-ice photos have been taken, tournament MVP's have been awarded, and they've been kicked off the ice takes twice as long as it usually does; half because Holster comes into the locker room with a champagne bottle that he smuggled in, shaken up and sprayed from the doorway, and half because Eric looks up into the shower head and finally lets the happy tears mix in with the water.
They did it.
Samwell wins the Frozen Four. Officially. Bitty is invited to play for Team USA at PyeongChang. Unofficially.

At 1:30 pm on April 4 2017, the NHL Commissioner officially announces that the NHL will not participate in the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics.
At 1:37pm, Jack finishes his thesis presentation and his phone buzzes a couple minutes later.

Jack remembers what it’s like to have Hockey Canada interested in him. (He doesn't remember the tournament.)
Or, Jack doesn't go to Samwell. The NHL doesn't go to the 2018 Olympics. Jack and Bitty still go to South Korea.

Larissa is staring at the ceiling.
For having lived under it for the past semester, and spending enough of it on her back looking up, she’s never really looked and now she can't focus on anything else. There’s a crack or a scratch that cuts through an old water stain that’s probably not mould. The stain starts near the doorway and snakes about halfway across the room towards the window before doubling back on itself. It kinda looks like a circumcised dick. Larissa squints a bit and tilts her head the other way. Now it looks like a ghost.
“You good?”
Larissa blinks and loses the shape.
