Summary
“He told you about our argument,” Tommy breathes, biting back a yawn close to winning today’s battle.
“It’s not much of an argument if one party already thinks they won,” Eddie snips back.
“How did you think making a life-changing decision without telling anyone was gonna go?” he continues, looking like he’s gearing up for the long speech he’s been dying to give since Evan shared his grievances with him.
Oh, so they’re playing it like this. Alright.
“Told your parents or your sisters about your will, lately?”
Eddie deflates.
“Touché.”
Or, two conversations bedside that break and remake Tommy's worldview.

Summary
the morning after the night before
I didn't know
a feeling this big,
could be so quiet.
You turned to me
in the kitchen and
took my heart
in your gentle hands.
The fluorescent glowof the greasy vent light
reflecting off your doe eyes.
I didn't know
light could illuminate
our words like that,
unsaid.
Our bodies spoke
for us. -

Summary
“Did it nick the femoral artery?” Eddie mutters to Chim, hands gentle as he cuts through the fabric of Buck’s turnout pants to get a better look. Buck has a glimmer in his tired eyes as Eddie looks up and catches his gaze. He can hear the bright laughter in his mind as Buck relays a dirty joke about getting into his pants with a twitch of his lips and a scrunch of his nose.
Holy shit, Eddie loves him so much. He’s been so stupid, telling himself to wait for the right moment. What right fucking moment? It should have been yesterday, three weeks ago– hell, it should have been three years ago when he was telling his best friend about the goddamn will. It doesn’t matter right now, though. The only thing that matters is keeping as much of Buck’s blood inside his body as possible. One can only hope and wish and pray.

Summary
(PROOF OF CONCEPT [n] a realization of a certain method or idea in order to demonstrate its feasibility. A demonstration in principle with the aim of verifying that some concept or theory has practical potential.)
“The second kind is what I would consider the only right way of doing things. It takes practice and listening to your partner as you play out a scene. It’s called a blood choke, you lightly grip the neck from the front, and—” Eddie demonstrates by tenderly gripping both sides of Buck’s neck with four fingers on one side and thumb on the other, never straying to the center where the skin aches and stings the most from Grindr James. He applies a slow pulse of a tightening grip as he speaks.
“Named blood for the carotid arteries you’re applying pressure to slowly on either side of the esophagus to induce light-headedness,” Eddie is still speaking in low tones but Buck feels the instinctive fluttering of his eyes, overwhelmed by the rush of endorphins he can sense racing away from his brain straight down to his cock in three nanoseconds flat from the firm and reverent touch of someone he's in love with.

Summary
“Hey, Eddie?”
Buck’s voice rings softly in the quiet. A casual lilt on his tongue as he says his name.
“Hm?”
“Tell you something?”
Shrugging, Eddie keeps his eyes fixed at the ceiling above him.
“We got time.”

Summary
The kid with blood pouring down his shins is not so far from the dog lonely enough that he thinks breaking his housetraining is worth it for the ten minutes of berating that come with it, the ten minutes of undivided, if reluctant, attention.
Buck thinks, sometimes, that at least he wasn’t the kind of puppy that gets put in a sack and drowned at birth. He wasn’t always unwanted. And he isn’t anymore.
or, evan “i love you like a dog” buckley has only ever known how to love like, well, a dog, but maybe eddie diaz is the kinda guy to give a flea-bitten mongrel a forever home
