Trauma lingers in different forms, careers are placed under scrutiny, and the meaning of responsibility shifts from procedure to conscience. As management tightens its grip and truth becomes negotiable, the crew must decide what it means to keep flying together, and whether staying silent is more dangerous than speaking out.
This is a story about people who guard the sky together, about bonds formed through responsibility rather than blood, and about what it costs to keep flying when the system meant to keep everyone safe starts to turn against those who believe in it most.

Summary
Sam’s right forefinger curls against Robin’s shoulder, gently resting above her collarbones to protect her from the cold wind of the evening. Firefly is reminded of a bird, then, wounded and unmoving. Robin couldn’t fight back, and Sam could easily dispose of her. But she could have also let her there to bleed in the alleyway, to wait until someone came to pick her up and bring her to safety.
In her hands, Robin wasn’t a free bird. At the end of the day, Sam’s hands were much of a cage against her form as they were a safe heaven.

"Nightmare, darling?" A leather gloved hand carefully brushes a few strands of hair out of her face, pulling her from the throes of darkness, from the inferno that engulfs her.
Kafka.
Why is she here? Himeko pushes her away. This is not how she wants Kafka to see her. Whenever Kafka shows up, they fuck, and Himeko is not in the mood for that tonight. Some part of her wants more than that. But she knows that's not possible, after all, who would want someone who sees her own death whenever she closes her eyes?
