Sabo liked to say that Ace thought of himself as the real king of the mountain, nevermind that the Tiger Lord still reigned supreme over the jungles of Mt. Colubo.
And, so what, maybe Ace was territorial. It’s not that unusual, is it? For as long as he could remember, he’s mostly had only himself to rely on, and though Sabo managed to worm his way into Ace’s acceptance-- and, much later came Luffy, brute-forcing his way into Ace’s good graces in his typical Luffy manner-- he found that he less considered them exceptions and more as part of what was his.
Yeah, he still can’t beat the Tiger Lord. So what. The Tiger Lord is an interloper who thinks of itself as hot shit. One day, Ace is going to put that big stupid cat in its place, and then Sabo won’t be able to tease him anymore because he really will own the mountain.

Marine Commander Donquixote Rosinante is found half-dead on Minion Island after the deal for the Ope Ope no Mi goes about as sour as it possibly could have. Nobody knows why he was there–- least of all the Commander himself.
Rosinante wakes up out of a six month stint in a coma knowing only three things for sure. That Doflamingo almost killed him, that there was something really, REALLY important he'd almost died for–-
–- and that if anyone at HQ found out what it was, what exactly happened on Minion Island... it'd be more than just his life in danger.
Now if they'd just let him out of Marineford. He's starting to think drastic measures are in order.

Summary
Rouge was a witch of the Portgas Clan, and when she died she became a ghost to protect and teach Ace his new duties as the last Portgas witch. The problem was that the World Government wanted the members of the twelve witch clans alive and with two brothers at Ace's back he kept getting into lots of trouble and attracting lots of attention. When that attention leads them to flee Goa Kingdom things become truly more chaotic. Can Rouge protect her kids (yes, kids, she claimed Luffy and Sabo too) or will she lose them forever? Will things get better in North Blue?
Dead or alive, Rouge would fight by Ace's side, but will that be enough to save him?

not enough people reading and commenting on this series frrrr. the writing and worldbuilding is phenomenal, the lore has me in a death grip, i'm crazy??? this is well and truly fascinating and i think the way the witch clans work is interesting enough on its own that if this was an original fiction based around just that, i'd probably be insane about it. go read this!!! it's Good!!!!

I turn around, and slam my forehead into the deck as I fall to my knees. “Please, god, I know the last time we talked I told you to suck an egg but what the actual fuck. What did I do? Is this because of the gay thing? I’ll stop I swear I’ll knock it off just please—”
“What are you talking about? Why were you swimming all the way out here? What’s with your weird clothes?” The Boy, whom I refuse to name on principle, starts rapid fire shooting out questions while wiggling his way across the tiny boat to me.
“This is actually happening. Oh my god this is real, what the shit…” I turn around from my position on the floor to see The Boy crouched inches from my face. I give an undignified yelp and scramble as far back as I can without tipping over the edge.
He gives me that bright grin and announces “I’m Monkey D. Luffy! I’m gonna be King of the Pirates!” Then he cocks his head to the side. “Who’re you?”
